Depression After Surgery
Lorraine Freeman replied to allmee's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Don't worry Nik, as I wrote on another post my 9 year old daughter turned to me on say 5 and said " mummy, you've turned back into a baby cause all you do is cry and drink" lol I promise you this does get better, it lasted about 10 days for me. If people were nice to me.... I cried, if I was upset at something......I cried, if I sneezed...... I cried, you get the gist lol. Come day 10 I was laughing about it with family members. Your body and mind have just gone through a major trauma and it takes time for things to get back to normal but hd on in there it will get better. I thought I would never feel "normal" again, I'm 5 weeks out now and I am honestly fine now. Sending love hugs and tissues to you. Chin up. Xxxxx -
3 months out what are u eating/break/lunch/dinner
Lorraine Freeman replied to sexy_sleevegirl's topic in Food and Nutrition
Shrimp, crab sticks, smoked sausage, quiche, soups, yoghurts, tuna, baked fish, weetabix, beef olives, chicken wrapped in bacon with a little soft cheese in the middle, turkey bacon with tomato and pineapple with a little melted cheese on top. Homemade weight watchers meals such as sweet n sour chicken, coq au vin, stuffed mushrooms, chicken spring rolls, pork stir fry. Hope this helps. Xxx -

In the early stages...
Lorraine Freeman replied to Shrinking_Cat_11's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hi shrinking cat, wasn't meaning to sound rude. It was just as she said shrimp was a never o thought that she wasn't allowed it again. Every nut has different ideas on what is allowed and not allowed after surgery, so thought perhaps her nut had said no shrimp. Xxx -

Since surgery
Lorraine Freeman replied to fyre_storm's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I get that if I drink something cold, I can actually feel the liquid going into the shape of my new tummy. I asked my nut and he said it was normal. Cxx -
Anti gall medication
Lorraine Freeman replied to cnunez77's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I got that so saw my doc and he prescribed me some in liquid form instead. I would suggest you don't stop taking them as I have had gallstones before and it really isn't an experience I would wish on my worst enemy. Mine cleared within 12 hours but I am greatful as I know some people have had much worse experiences. Do you really want to run the risk of perhaps having another operation? Hope this helps. Xxxx -
Ask your surgeon if you can do the low carb diet instead of the liquid diet. I did the low carb diet and actually really enjoyed it and dropped 15 pounds in 2 weeks!!!!

Lorraine Freeman replied to keri2142's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was sleeved on the 7th of November and I have these problems too. No sleep (its 03:26 here just now) and freezing all the time where as like you I used to sweat doing the slightest thing. Totally worth it though. -

Post-Op Diet Confusion
Lorraine Freeman replied to deedeemuffin's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
Week 1 was liquid and shakes only Week 2 thicker liquids eg, creamy Soups, custard, yoghurt etc Week 3 soft food and puréed eg puréed chicken or meat, prawns etc with a little sauce or mayo. eggs can be eaten without being puréed. Week 4 still soft foods meats etc but moist meat can be eaten whole and chewed really well without being puréed. You can also start eating things that dissolve easily like cracker bread or Melba toast. 3 months you can basically eat anything. This is my post op diet hope this helps Ps. You should aim for between 2-4oz of meat a day and 60grams protein a day. Between 1litre and 2.5litres of Fluid (protein shakes can be included in liquid quantity consumed) -

Lorraine Freeman replied to Jenny12's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi there, i am from Scotland and these books are still readily available here. If you go to bariatriccookery.com they sell them for less than £20 for the 2 books. It asks what currency you would like to pay in so might accept US Dollars. -

How Long Til You Got To 600-800 Calories/day?
Lorraine Freeman replied to cmf1267's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Change your Protein to slim fast shakes, they have 230 calories each 325ml bottle. It also helps with getting in fluids as depending on what you eat, you need 3 or 4 to get in enough protein. Xxx
