THATS not self control!
Lorraine Freeman replied to amytug's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Of course it takes self control!!!! You could still eat sweets and treats every few hours when you have been sleeved but you will have to make a conscious decision not too. The sleeve is a tool to aid weight loss but it doesn't do the work for you. WLS is highly frowned upon across here as it is portrayed as a "quick fix" for fat people. What people don't realise is that its s dam long process to be accepted for the sleeve in the first place (took me 2 years to be accepted) then you have all the mental and physical trauma both before and after surgery. The liquid and purée diet stages are by no means easy. So anybody thinking or saying this is a "quick fix" or thinking that self control is not needed are needing to do some reading or be told the facts. Xxx -

Lorraine Freeman replied to Alexandra39's topic in Food and Nutrition
I am personally fine with cold drinks I only take things like Soup and tea warm as that's the way I have always liked it. Xxx everyone is different when it comes to drinking. Xxxx -
Salad cream is a yellow thick sauce that people put on salad. We have mayo as well and its about the same consistency as mayo but doesn't taste anything like it. It's less fat than mayo also.

Depression After Surgery
Lorraine Freeman replied to allmee's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
You really will, just take it one day at a time and try and keep things that you can as normal as possible. I enjoyed visiting friends or having a change of scenery for an hour or 2 a day as it broke the monotony and my obsessive thinking of what I had done to myself. Chin up and you will be fine. Xxx -

In Scotland we have chips (what you call fries) cheese and salad cream. Sooooooo yummy but so bad for you. We also add salad cream to tinned tuna and also mush it through boiled eggs.

Weetabix, innocent smoothies, puréed prawn with Marie Rose sauce. Puréed chicken. Quiche ( just don't eat the crust) omelettes, Greek yoghurt, rice pudding( muller rice with apple or raspberry etc) Hope this helps hunny. Don't let other people attack you or put you down, if we were all perfect then we wouldn't of needed this surgery. You are not a stupid person, you know you made a mistake, but hey that's life. We learn from our mistakes and move on. I am actually quite disgusted that some people feel like they can condemn and bully people on this site when it was set up so that we could support each other. People should have a think about how they felt being overweight and stared at and judged by that one thing by others rather than on the whole person they are before writing nasty words to others who are in a different vulnerable situation. I was always taught If you have nothing nice to say then don't say anything at all and really stand by this. If you don't like what someone has eaten etc.. Then either kindly guide them in the right direction or simply don't reply to the post. Xxxx -
