Getting sleeved on Tuesday...scared
Lorraine Freeman replied to Harpo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This is totally normal to feel like this. In my experience eating did become a chore in the first month to 6 weeks as you are learning to eat again. I am coming up to 4 months out now and am totally used to my smaller portion sizes etc now. I don't feel as hungry now as I did before my sleeve but do get the odd hunger pang (not nearly as intense as before sleeve). The way I look at my sleeve is that I can and do eat everything in moderation. I don't believe in treating my sleeve as if I am on a diet as I know I will never be able to sustain this long term. I do make healthy meal choices now but if I fancy something not so good for me I don't deprive myself (I don't pig out either). My dietician told me that as long as I'm good 85% of the time then a packet of crisps or chocolate bar a couple of times a week really won't hinder my progress. I wouldn't say I feel 'normal' now as there really is a huge difference in portion sizes, however I am very comfortable with my new 'normal' , as I say its difficult in the beginning but its amazing how fast your body and brain adapt. Hope this helps. Xxx -

It's because your body and mind have gone through a trauma of sorts, so your mind reacts in giving you nightmares. Xx

Understanding the phrase "honeymoon period"
Lorraine Freeman replied to clk's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Totally agree with you Cheri, I lost 16 pounds in the first 2 weeks and thought I would lose the weight at the same pace no probs (duh) The reality is I lose 3 pounds a week now (3 months out) After reasons lots of your posts Cheri, I have come to accept this weight loss every week and actually be content with it. So I would like to thank those that take time to post threads like these, which give people the confidence and realisation that this ox totally normal and that they will still get there if they follow plan. I was given a sugar free liquid anti biotic to take when I needed them but that was the first week I was out of hospital. Xxx

Pain Medication after Surgery
Lorraine Freeman replied to wannabaloser's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Believe it or not you really don't need anything stronger than this after the surgery. It's honestly not as sore as you think it's gonna be. Xxx -
Today i found out that i streched my pouch
Lorraine Freeman replied to LadiWobs's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It's physically impossible for you to have stretched your sleeve within 7 weeks by your own doing. I think you have either been given the wrong diagnoses or your surgeon is at fault. My surgeon says that it takes constant abuse of your sleeve (as in over a year) to stretch it. At 7 weeks out there's just no way you could of done this, plus you would be very sick all the time. I would seek a second opinion and check your surgeons work by let getting another surgeon to look at the photos taken after surgery. -
recovery...
Lorraine Freeman replied to rockdutchess82's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Recovery for me went well, had small issues like a very runny tummy for the first week so got really dehydrated, also my incisions got infected so had to get a sugar free liquid antibiotic which was the worst thing I have ever tasted in my life. I didn't feel like my tummy had been cut out but did feel very tender where the large incision was. It's more achy than sore, I felt it more when I was bending or trying to sit up. I can honestly say it wasn't agony and was it was a really manageable pain, not half as sore as I was expecting. Hope this helps. -
It's either that of they might jack them up like you do when your changing a car tyre lol

Lol, I wondered why there was 2 extra assistants in the operating room, one to support each boob. ;0)

Pickled mussels are a fab source of protein, a 100g jar gives you 19g protein and they are only 102 calories. Xxx -

Lorraine Freeman replied to jsunflower2001's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Are you making sure you chew your food into a paste before swallowing? Also are you maybe eating too fast? Just suggestions, hope it helps. Xxx -
