    Solid Food And Pain

Sounds like you are experiencing a case of the slimes. Only time will help. Are you taking an anti-acid such as Prilosec or Prevacid? They might help but other than that take it slow when adding solid foods! Pizza was probably not the best choice you could have made!

    4 Wks Post Op Miserable

In so sorry to hear that Lux! This journey is tough but it shouldn't be this tough! Can you ask your doctor for some anti-inflammatory drugs? That may help. It sounds like you just might be having a tough time getting rid of the stomach swelling and that may be the cause of the vomiting. Ugh. I really hope this all settles down soon.

    4 Wks Post Op Miserable

Did you do anything different yesterday because you were feeling good? Did you eat something different? It's so hard to just take things easy I know but don't push this time. Just take it easy, take as much clear fluid as you can. Don't worry about how much you should be getting and just do your best! Things will turn better soon and this will all just be a bump in the road.

    Still Hungry

If you were sleeved on the 14th you must still be on liquids. They slide right through and don't give you the full feeling as much. When you get on to soft foods, that's when you'll notice that full feeling. Good luck. Keep measuring you portions and you'll be fine.
  7. Momof4 feel better real soon and here's to a speedy in eventful recovery.

    Hunger

That's called head hunger. You just think you are hungry. If you're stomach is dumbly its probably due to gas. I had that too and couldn't decide if I was hungry, gassy, full or what.
  11. So I'm 12 days post op and last night ate some blackbean soup at around 8pm. I went to bed around 11 and took all of my pills and vitamins. I woke up at 3am nauseous and sliming. I threw up once, just saliva and then was up and really uncomfortable until 6am. Today I've not had enough water or protein but I still have a stuck feeling I my throat. Do you think it was the soup, which I felt it had gone down ok, or the pills I took? Whatever it was I'm now scared to eat anything!

    When Could You Swallow Pills?

The day after surgery my doctor told me to take all my pills. The antibiotic they have me was huge and I could take that just fine. Give swallowing it a shot, if you don't see any negative effects, like sliming, then you're good to go.
  14. Oh, and by the way, I was sleeved Nov 7th too and I've 'only' lost 15lbs!!!! Wahoo!!! I was jumping for joy!!!!
  15. Ok, first off, take a deep breath and step away from the scale! All will be fine. I'm not trying to be rude when I say that your surgeon may not have been the best surgeon if he was willing to do surgery on somebody with no pre-op diet etc but we are past that. If he gave you no information whatsoever here is a booklet that was posted by another member which is really informative. http://www.muhealth.org/documents/bariatric/Bariatric%20Booklet%20VSG.pdf. You should be trying to get 60-80 grams of Protein per day. If you can do that without the use of protein drinks then I am amazed. However, it can be done. Drink lots of milk etc. Are you able to shop on Amazon at all? They have a ton of great protein powders. As for Vitamins you really should be taking a multi-Vitamin as well as Vitamin B-12. That is the very minimum you should be taking. You could also add in some Iron and some Biotin but those are not so necessary. Put the scale away!!!! Weighing everyday is not healthy! 3 days is not a stall, it's normal! Your body has noooo idea what you have done to it and wants to make sure you are not starving to death. Weigh yourself once a week max. If things don't change for 2-3 weeks then you are in a stall and may need to jump start things. You will lose weight! You just have to be patient! Come to these forums often, they a great resource and you will find many helpful, caring people here. Good luck.

    Omg I Slimmed

How long does the sliming last? I are at 8pm. It's now 4am and I still have the pain and sliming symptoms. Just three up just saliva and clear stuff, so badly wanted more to come up! Anything I can do to relieve the pain?
  17. I only access these boards through the mobile iphone app and I really want to turn off the email notifications. Is there a way to do that in the app itself. I don't need 50 emails a day from one place! I check in often.

    Dr. Fernando Garcia

Coolmamma, I hate throwing up too but had no choice post op. It just went on and on! I was the only one out of 6 surgeries that day who threw up at all so it's not necessarily going to happen, just be prepared for it.

    Last Week Sleevers..lets Chat..

11 days post op here and I am living off of blackbean soup and tomato soup. Water and protein smoothies or shakes make up the rest of the day!

    Dr. Fernando Garcia

Just a warning to all who are worried about nausea. Not all the nausea post surgery is caused by the meds and the surgery. Your stomach and esophagus will be swollen post surgery which can cause a temporary blockage. Blockage means vomiting. Anti-nausea meds will not help this! I know from experience. It is only temporary though and once the swelling goes down, hopefully quickly, the nausea and the vomiting will stop. Ask you PCP for an anti-nausea patch or pill but don't be too disappointed if it doesn't help.
  21. You can also go through Christi at successfullyslimmer.com. She will arrange everything for you and take great care of you both before and after your surgery.
  22. Mi hospital does not suck at all! Is it small? Yes. Do they have the most up to date equipment? No. Is it clean and does it have everything any other hospital has? Yes. I never once felt at risk in the hospital. The staff were very nice and the rooms were good.

    Iphone Posts

Still having this same problem on my iphone 5 through the app.
  24. So the above post was a Facebook message I received from Dr. Garcia himself when I mentioned that someone had heard negative things about him. I love his honesty and I can say I have never been better taken care of than I was with him and his team.
