  1. Ok, lying not not gaining 20lbs in 7 weeks is wrong, even if you didn't get the sleeve. There's something bigger going on here. I would be questioning the doc if you really had no pain and have no issues eating or anything because I have yet to find one person who was lucky enough to have that happen! Not saying it can't happen, just would make me question everything. Like I said, gaining 20lbs in 7 weeks is not right. There could be another medical reason for it. Have you had blood tests etc? What type of protein are you drinking 120g of a day? Are you tracking what you eat? If all of the above are in order and you can HONESTLY say you have done everything you know how to do then there is something else going on. I was told I could eat more than 4oz but was told I shouldn't so I weigh and measure everything I eat. I also eat 4-6 times a day.
  2. Where did you have your surgery? This all sounds very bizarre to me! I couldn't drink a medicine cup of Gatorade until 3 days post op! I couldn't even imagine trying to eat a cream of anything soup. Sorry I have no advice and I hope this gets figured out for you soon. There is absolutely no way you've stretched your sleeve! Demand a swallow test. You can see on the X-ray machine how small (or not) your stomach is.

    OUCH!

My surgeon said NSAIDS were fine, in moderation. I was told you would have to take 1600 mg a day (that's 8 regular Advil), without food or milk, for it to make a difference to the sleeve. The risk of ulcers is the same as for non sleeved patients. Yes, there is a risk but its one I'm willing to take when I have a migraine and Advil Liqui-gels are the only thing that relieves them!

    Protein Shots

Have you tried them? They are the most disgusting things you'll ever try! So foul!

    Meds..

I was taking all of my pills whole day 1 post op. they got stuck a couple of times and caused the slimes. I learned to take them with milk and slowly and have been fine since.
  6. I was given pain meds every 4 hours in the hospital. Eventually I said 'do I really need all that? I'm not in pain'. They stopped giving it to me. They sent me home with a package of pills and I took one just to help me sleep. I slept for a whole day the day I got home from the hospital and felt much better. Listen, if you need them, take them. There's no harm in it. The likelihood that you become addicted is slim. A few days of meds will make you feel so much better and you'll heal quicker.

    Dr.Darius Ameri

No he wasn't. I was sleeved by Dr Garcia in Mexico. I read your post and had experienced the same thing so thought I would reply. I did have decaf tea. Just regular breakfast tea but the decaf version. I put milk in it (calcium plus) and sipped. It was the only thing that got me through the first few weeks.

    4 Wks Post Op Miserable

You my dear need to be patient. You are only 4 weeks out. You are still healing. I just hit 10 weeks out and finally have just started to feel like a human being again! Your sleeve is going to have good days and bad. Treat it nicely and it'll be good back to you. Sometimes it'll like something one day and then not like it the next. It's a game of sorts. Just keep trying to get as much protein and fluids as you can. At this point fluids are top priority. Keep On doing what you're doing. In no time you'll forget about all of the problems and will be living the good life. Good luck

    eating slow

It's totally anti-social but I take a bite and then check a status update on Facebook or a thread on here. Then I take another bite.
  10. I have always been sensitive to smells but I am even more so now. I can tell what my husband are for lunch as soon as he walks through the door after work. If he eats garlic I can barely sleep in the same room.

    BMI category changed

Wahoo!!!! I hit that milestone last week too! It feels amazing!! Enjoy every minute of it!!!
  13. I'm so glad you are ok and it turned out to be something that is an easier fix. It's amazing what your brain can make your body do without you even knowing it! Sorry you are having anxiety. You have to eat, or you'll die! Take your meds, stick with the plan you've been given and you will be successful this time. I know exactly how you feel but we got this!
  14. Wow, testy much? Anywhooo, go the route of spray tanning at a salon. The self tanners can be hard to get right leaving you with bright orange elbows and knees. The spray tans you can get at salons are much better than the bottled stuff you can get at Walmart. Just stay off the tanning beds!
  15. Sorry about the pics. They make me feel sick! I am 10 weeks post op and 35lbs down. I feel great and am so happy that this is working. Oh and yes, I've eaten chocolate, carbs, ice cream and some pizza! Just not every day and not an entire pizza or a quart of ice cream, but I've had it. I believe everything in moderation is the key to success in this journey and it appears to be working for me! I've not had one stall (unless you call not losing for 2 days a stall) and no gains. Thanks for listening and looking. Suzy
  16. Thanks again all. I feel great. Just don't like seeing myself in bra and underwear! Not sure if that'll change when I'm smaller, I've never been very confident in my own skin. Guess that happens when you've been far since age 10! Time will tell but for now I am ecstatic with my progress.

    No energy

You are less than two weeks out and are probably still on full liquids. Don't forget you've had major surgery and your body has gone through a trauma. Add on top of that that you are probably eating 1/6 the amount of calories per day that you were pre op. you're going to be tired. I'm 10 weeks and there are still days where I need to take a nap in the afternoon. And it's not like 'oh I'm a bit tired, I'll nap for a few minutes' its 'oh, I'm tired as all hell, I'm going to go to bed for a couple (3 or 4) hours'! Try to get in as much water and protein as you can. Water doesn't have to be plain water. Go for teas, vitamin waters, diluted juice. Anything you can get down. I drank hot tea for a few weeks because it just went down easier than anything else. Give your body time to heal and adjust and in a few weeks you'll be feeling fine. Also exercising can help.
  18. Ok, one question and I'm not trying to start anything here, just trying to understand. Why would you go through the surgery to be happier and healthier and then get in a tanning bed? They are proven to cause skin cancer with minimal use. I'm just not sure I understand the thinking.
