    Surgery - December 27th!

Like goodnurse said- hang in there! I am still sore and having a hard time keeping up with my protein requirements! I have also been pretty tired. I am not one to sit still long and this "rest" is driving me crazy. I am also having bouts of hunger and crazy dreams that my stomach grew back ( which makes me more hungry!! ) I am sure after I start getting to eat real food and not powdered-this and liquid-that my bod will start responding better. This was my first surgery also so don't get depressed! This is a HUGE stress on the body and it is just trying to get back to feeling normal again. Mind over matter is the trick I am trying to use to get me through this stage- picturing myself this summer in a cute little dress and feeling comfortable and healthy again! That, and the support from my fellow sleevers on this blog!!! Hang in there and don't get depressed- everyone's journey is different. Do your best and it will be ok. :-)

    Surgery - December 27th!

Wow! Time is ticking by! What I am most excited about is that my gas is gone! WooHooo!!! Before I was DC'd from the hospital I talked to a gal that had the sleeve a week before me and told me she was just advanced to scrambled eggs and mashed potatoes, etc. I know how important clear liquids and protein shakes are to this first phase but I can say that I will enjoy getting my protein from natural sources as this diet advances! My surgery day weight was 286 and today I am down to 279. Fellow Sleevers- this is OUR year! Our year to be Healthy! Our year to be happy!!! I wish everyone a Happy New Year and hang in there......we got this See ya in 2013!

    Surgery - December 27th!

Two days to go- I can't believe it!!! I don't know about you guys but I am so sick of liquids right now I could scream! I do have to say that I am pretty proud of myself making it through 3 twelve hour shifts in the ER without wavering and sneaking the taste of a Christmas cookie :-) I am so excited and ready to get this done. Good luck everybody and I will have each of you in my prayers for a speedy recovery! Merry Christmas and have an awesome day!

    Surgery - December 27th!

Stephanie, That is an awesome idea!!! We can do this gal!!! I had to start my liquids yesterday and it wasn't that bad- all I have to say is thank goodness for soup and pudding!!! Hehehe! I work in the ER the next 3 days so that will be the real test- during Christmas there is usually enough food in the ER to feed a small country!! Good luck with ur protein shakes this weekend- you got this! Chat at ya later buddy! Stacy

    Surgery - December 27th!

I just want to say how grateful I am for this site and how much I have learned from all of my fellow sleevers! I also have surgery scheduled for the 27th and am getting nervous. I am an ER Nurse and know exactly what to expect and who will be with me in the OR but I am still scared. This was a HUGE decision for me and I, like Stephanie, had been having doubts a few weeks ago also but I think after my pre-surgical testing the other day reality sunk in and I have just been ready to get my life back. I am ready to be active in life again without being short-winded! Thanks for the idea to go ahead and try the protein- I was kinda waiting until I actually needed to take it ( hehe!) but I think you are right to find what works for me now instead of waiting. Good luck on the 27th Stephanie and all other upcoming sleevers- we got this!!!

    Bariatric Surgery Do's And Don'ts

This is awesome! I am getting sleeved on Dec 27th and really needed to hear these do's and dont's. I am getting nervous and excited all at once but know I can do this! This forum has been a blessing.......thank you all.
  13. Hey from Missouri! I just joined the forum last night and am encouraged by all of the posts I have read so far! I have my surgery date on 12/27/2012 (Merry Christmas to me!!!) and cant wait! I am so thankful to have the opportunity and the means to be able to finally get my life back with the sleeve. I have become a slave to my weight over the past 5 yrs and it stops now. I am tired of being fat and tired of not being able to do the fun activities I used to do. Tired of having to catch my breath after walking a short distance. Tired of not wanting to hang out with friends because of my low self-esteem. Tired of always being tired. I have 46 days to go and am ready to get my life back!! Cant wait to pick everyone's brain on this forum and thank you in advance. Have an awesome day and later! Stacy
