Except this time... IT'S GOING TO KEEP GOING DOWN!!! Put on a happy face and keep up the good work!! -
Of course I might just be over thinking everything because I'm a paranoid freak BUT I have been having some "symptoms" recently and I'm not sure if I should worry. I had my surgery a week ago, Nov 5th. and I feel fine for the most part but I notice when I walk straight for more than 10-15 minutes I begin to feel short or breath, dizzy, and EXHAUSTED!! I've been trying to call my doc but it seems because of the holiday nobody is in so any suggestions/ideas would be appreciated! By the way I do admit I can be drinking more water but if I'm not drinking water I make sure to replace it with a Popsicle or other clear liquid... Thank You!

Post Op Gastric Sleeve
Di-Sleeve replied to msmomrules's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey Marie, I really think this is different for everybody. I know people that went back 1 week after surgery because they felt so great. I feel good right now (6 days post surgery) and go back next Monday so I will have 2 weeks off in total but im strongly considering asking my doctor for a third week. I dont have a job that will strain me or anything but I dont feel like I will be at my 100% by next Monday. Standing too long hurts a bit and walking too far gets uncomfortable. Really depends in my opinion. -
Good Luck!! I got sleeved exactly last Monday! Gosh I still get excited thinking about it. The first day wasn't bad considering you have a "knockout button" you push whenever you feel the slightest pain or discomfort. The second and third day for me we difficult. Nothing unbearable just mostly discomfort. Realizing I had a catheter in me was SO ANNOYING!! But now im home and today I went walking the longest (food- or shall I say liquid- shopping) You will do great and as advised before, make sure you WALK, WALK, WALK!!! It'll pay off because im still getting rid of some of the gasses. : ) Give us an update!!

Yea no problem!! I said to myself if I have to do these 6 months again I'm not doing it. Lol The doctor told me that as long as I had a copy of all the clearances from the doctors I saw and their information he'd accept it. I'm a freak of organization so I had like 3 copies of each but if you don't you can simply ask your current hospital for a copy of your chart and they'll release it to you. By the way, the new hospital even required a separate psych evaluation of their own (worth $150) and after I showed him that I even had that done he gave me an ok and I didn't have to do it. Again, just call and ask. Doesn't hurt. And as a previous comment said the insurance will "love" to push it until next year so that way you have to reach your out of pocket cost. Don't let everything you've done now go to waste. : ) The things we need to do to!!! Lol

I got my approval sent in the morning and by the pm they called me to tell me I was approved! : )

Hi Malia, I have BCBS as well and had a VERY difficult time with them to get approved. I ended up changing hospitals once and feared I would have to do the entire process over again and I didn't. The only thing the new hospital made me do was go to their seminar. After I had attended their seminar I made an appointment the next day with the surgeon and in less than two weeks my surgery was scheduled. I started my process end of Jan 2012 and just got my sleeve on Nov 5th. It was a VERY long process that I almost gave up on. Just my advice, call a second hospital and simply ask how they can help? Maybe you're closer than you think! Good Luck!
