    help!!!! cant decide

I had Dr. Tarnoff. He was great. I loved their program, knew it would be good for me, but wasn't really excited about the Behavioral Support Group, but I loved my group and in the end I wish you could attend weekly through the entire process instead of just 6 weeks. I had 3-4 weeks after it ended before my surgery. A group of us still check in w/ eachother though. I can't complain at all about their program. Dr. Rollanson wasn't my fave and she's not for everyone, but other than her everyone else exceeded my expectations.

    Any Younger Bansters Here?

Does 29 count? I'm sad, only 352 days before I turn 30. :car: I started at 230, now weight 196 and couldn't be happier! I feel very thankful that I was able to do something about my weight while I am still in my 20's I want to have a family - start trying at least in a year and a half and not to be having the notion that my weight will double after a baby. Which is typical for my family's side of the family. Now I am empowered and adjustable for the rest of my life!

    What's a 'Bump'?

a bump, literally bumps a post back to the top so it doesn't get lost in a sea of other posts.

    Another question

Anytime you drastically change your diet you'll hit a honeymoon weightloss, a lot of that was prob water-weight. Now your weightloss will taper down to a much more healthy 1-2 lbs per week. Don't be too alarmed if you gain some of it back. I gained about 5 lbs before I started to find restriction. The fills can take awhile to get just right. Its a journey, not a race.

Would you give them a chance again?

Abosolutely NOT! I work at a university and was mortified one day to hear some guys talking about some girl who had recently lost a bunch of weight over the summer. There was some talk about how she's probably emotionally defunct and would prob sleep w/ anyone just to try out the new bod now that she could "get some" I wanted to walk up to those boys and slap them all, but of course, there were legal issues...... My husband met me chubby, fell in love w/ me chubby and has supported my weightloss 100%. If it was any other way, I'd be worried.
  8. I'd wait at least 3 days before driving that far! I had to be a passenger 2 days post op, for a 4 hour round trip drive and it was fine as a passenger, but I wouldn't have been able to do it as a driver. I didn't drive again until day 5. And it was just down the street to pick up some take out for my poor hungry husband.

First fill.....Need someone to go with you?

You'll be fine solo. Just bring a big water bottle for afterwards.

I wasn't banded in Mexico, but I've heard of Kuri and Ortiz. You may want to try searching back threads or maybe posting w. a more specific title. Remember how important follow up care is, u need to make sure if u get banded in Mexico that u can find a doc in the US that is near u and wil peform fills and after care on you. I've heard from too many women who got banded and then had to drive for hours to get to a doc that was willing to see them. I can't imagine not looking for the follow-up. I was banded by a very reputable surgeon in Boston, MA but may be moving in the next year to my homestate of Colorado w/ my hubby. One of the first things I did when we started house hunting was look for new docs in the area and call to make sure they'd see me. I'd like to check out a few of them first, cause I really believe in Dr./Patient chemestry. Every office that I spoke to asked nerveously if I was banded in Mexico then laughed and breathed when I said Boston. NONE of the docs w/i a 2 hour radious that I spoke to would have seen me if I was banded in Mexico. For me it doesn't matter, as I wasn't, but it does make me nervous for other bandsters that were.

    Marchies in June

Hello fellow Marchers! I was banded March 19th, 2007 at NEMC in Boston. I was so happy to see such a huge response from others banded in March! So far I've lost a total of 32 lbs!

    Medic Alert ID or not?

I have the card in my wallet, but honestly would feel more comfortable w/ something on my persons, what if I got seperated from my handbag you know! So I'm looking now at the various websites and just wanted to point out something for people who may feel like their ID bracelet is turning into a charm bracelet w/ various health issues they have: The MedicAlert® E-HealthKEY USB flash drive and software providing access to your personal health record, anywhere, 24/7. I hadn't seen that a few years ago when looking for one for my aunt, this could be a real life saver to some!

    What was the last straw?

Julie, thank you! And thanks for deciphering some of my post, I was just re-reading it, I took a few little erratic jaunts from the main story, but the full point you were able to grasp, lol!
  15. I am beyond excited, yesterday I woke up and weighed in at 199.4, today it was 199.2, I didn't want to post yesterday and hten wake back up in Twoterville! :clap2: I have been below 200 in at least 2 years, not even w/ all of the dieting and exercise I did for my wedding. I was a 205 lb bride! How depressing is that? - Well for me it was tramatic. I'm totally loving my band all over again. To Celebrate I'm having a mega facial peel on Tuesday and taking the rest of the week off from work so I can recoop. This is the Year-of-Stephanie and I am determined that on my Band anniversary date (3/19) I will look like an extreme makeover. Beautiful body, toned from the gym and fat-free'ish from the band, beautiful, glowing skin from my weight-loss-reward treatments, and maybe I'll start playing w/ some hair color streaks along the way! :kiss2: Stephanie Ramos
