    Sleep Problems?

Is it common for insomnia to get worse after surgery? If so, I'd better start preparing for this now.

    Dr. Jesus Ortiz

I'm still pre-op, but I'm strongly considering going with Dr. Jesus Ortiz (and yes, he's young--younger than me!). I was told by someone who had surgery with Dr. Lopez (who trained Dr. Ortiz) a month ago that Dr. Ortiz assists Dr. Lopez in TJ (Dr. Osuna has not been assisting Dr. Lopez in TJ because she's taking care of her sick mother in PV, I'm told) and, when he's in TJ, Dr. Lopez assists Dr. Ortiz, so either way you wind up with the same medical team (unless Dr. Lopez is in PV). Hopefully that isn't too confusing to follow!
  3. I've got Spring Break envy. I'm getting mine done over Spring Break too--a little early, actually--except I'm getting it done on 3/22, which is the Friday before my Spring Break officially starts. I miss semesters
  4. I'm in this boat too and I have to wait until the end of March It is so hard not to be fixated on this, for all of the reasons you've all already stated, but I'm also trying find ways to make myself believe that time really will fly, because looking at the larger picture, it really will. Thank goodness for VST.
  5. I'm going in March, but not until the 22nd. Save a spot on the losers' bench for me!

    March 22

Me? I'm in Seattle, but like I said to SerendipityHappens, I'm happy to be sleeve buddies from afar! Even if we don't get it done at exactly the same time, it sounds like we're all going to have March in common, so we can experience the joys (and possible frustrations) of being newly sleeved at roughly the same time
  7. There's so many good things listed here already, but here's some more I can think of: I won't miss feeling so fixated on food. I am excited to be able to wear high heels for a good length of time without being in excruciating pain (I have so many that I've never even worn!).

    March 22

I will be at Mi Doctor also, so if you wind up going around the same time, we should definitely be in touch! Even if we don't go around the same time, I'll be your March sleeve buddy from afar!

Can't Log In On New Ipad

    This totally worked! Thanks!
  10. Just got a new iPad (4th gen) and I am unable to log in to the VST app from it. The ony place I can get the login button to appear is under "Current Threads", but when I click on the login button it does not respond. I also can't look at the Forums tab--it also does not respond when I click on it. All of this worked fine on my 1st gen iPad.

    African American Sleevers

    Congrats! Very happy for you.
  14. You look great and IMO, many of the things on your "bad" list aren't so bad at all or won't be forever. Ditto on what everyone else said about not missing out on opportunities for love--if someone really cares for you, it won't matter how much you weigh. Wishing you continued success!
  15. I'm eager to know the answer to this too, as everything I have read so far says that it's pretty much inevitable (eek!), but also that it grows back (phew).

    Anyone Plateau After Puree?

How long has it been since your surgery? I am still pre-op, but you may want to look at this information about why the weight loss stalls from time to time: http://www.dsfacts.com/weight-loss-stall-or-plateau.html
  18. You look great and healthy! Congrats! Wishing you continued success!

    Size Of Stomach

I'm not exactly sure why some people are able to consume more than others after surgery, but most surgeons use something called a bougie to know where/how small to cut the stomach. The bougies can vary in size, so that might be the reason that some people can consume more.
