I'm 5 ft 5 & 258.9 lbs. I want to get down to 140. I, like others, have had to practically starve myself to be that small before. Frankly, if I got at least 100lbs off I'd be satisfied. If I got down to 140 it'd be over the moon!

Well I consider myself very blessed bc my parents are paying for mine. I just had to pay for the flight for me and my husband. My ultimate goal is 140. Anything less would be icing on the cake (haha). At 140 I would be wearing a size 5/6. I've been 160 and wore an 8 (and was literally starving myself to death...miserable), so I think thats a pretty accurate guess. That's about 110 lbs to lose. To be honest, I will be THRILLED when I get to 160...but I've heard plenty of sleevers say "don't sell yourself short" and "shoot for the moon" so to me 140 is a dream weight.

Hey! I'm scheduled for March 12. Beyond excited, and just a little nervous. Wish it was getting done tomorrow (or today!). Going to Juarez, Mexico, Dr. Rodriguez.

On November 29th marked 2 years since I had my VSG done. How quickly time flies! I am 83lbs down from my surgery weight, and 122lbs down from my highest weight. I went from wearing a size 20/22 at my highest the wearing a size 4/6 and xs/s tops. I actually dropped a little below my goal and have been easily maintaining for the last 6 months. I was a slower loser, but I reached my goal in 18 months and couldn't be happier! I have never regretted having the surgery done and have always felt like it was the best thing that I have EVER done for myself. I feel so great and would do it again in a heartbeat!

That's true, just called the hospital they have appts as early as next week but they still need to put all my information in the system. Maybe if I keep calling they will do the work.

I feel like a stalker calling each day and it's a shame we have to harrass these people. When I go on my break I am going to call them.

Wow 6 to 12 months, that is just ridiculous. I am still in the same spot too I haven't called the hospital yet. I am trying to give them a chance. I will call them by the time I leave work.

So I know I've made bad food choices and that is the primary reason for my weight problems. However I've always felt that my sedentary job has been a big contributor. I watched rock center yesterday, they had a report on how bad sitting all day is. I've seen similar reports on various shows, and I agree. I really hate it, I feel like I belong In the movie Wally.
The good news is that I'm in my last year of school, so hopefully I'll be able to leave this crummy job and switch fields. On the show they made a recommendation of getting up at least 10 minutes of every hour. So I'm going to start working on that. Because we all know its the little steps that we make that make a big difference...

I have a question for all of you that have had this surgery. How much of your excessive weight have you lost? My surgeon said that I should lose about 60-70% of my excessive weight. I would like to lose all of it but I know that may be impossible. Or is it impossible?

They drag their feet. I had to do a 6 months supervised diet which took forever and now I need to meet with a nutrionist, a nurse, and a mental health person. Then I can submit all my stuff to the insurance. I am just waiting for the hospital to call me to schedule my appt so see the people.

It will take me about the same because my insurance requires me to do a 6 month supervised diet.
