    MY HAIR IS FALLING OUT!

Your hair falls out during the more rapid weight loss phase and the hair loss tapers off as your weight loss slows down, so think of this as a positive thing, that is associated with weight loss. Enjoy the ride!

    Breast reduction

I'm in the Philly area, and trust me, a support bra isn't going to keep the sagging from happening as you lose the weight - assuming you have a significant amount of weight to lose. I get periodically fitted at Nordstroms as I am losing weight. They are miracle workers!

Started 'Couch to 5k today' Anyone keen?

That's do great! The altitude in Breckenridge kicked my butt! It was so beautiful though!

    Such great ideas! Thank you!

What am I a walking scale?

Isn't that great?! I figure, why go into all of it, so I just say "thank you" and move on : )

    Is one night enough?

I didn't want to stay two nights, but I felt a wave of nausea with every sip of fluids, and you could literally hear every sip I took as it worked its way down my esophagus, due to the inflammation. So, it was the right thing for me to do, to stay until I was able to tolerate fluids.
  7. That is exactly what my pulmonologist told me. I've had one sleep study since surgery and my setting was lowered, but I do still need it, unfortunately. Not everyone can come off the cpap, even though I know I wasn't symptomatic when I was this weight on the way up in size. I'm still hopeful, though!

What am I a walking scale?

I've gotten the gamut. At first, people kept telling me that my hair looked great in my new cut or color (which I hadn't gotten). I just smiled and said thank you. Then a guy at work told me I looked great without my glasses (I've never worn glasses to work). I just smiled and said thank you. I also had one person stop and say "something is different about you, but I can't put my finger on it!" I said I had lost weight, and it seemed that my saying it gave them permission to acknowledge it. And this is with 92 lbs down! People are funny!
  9. I am so, so sorry that happened to you, but I must admit I was laughing out loud at your description of it - priceless! So...how is the white dress looking today? : )

Gluten free, sugar free, fat free OH MY!

Shrimp and scallops have been on the menu from the time I could eat solid food. Yummy!

    BIG FAT PEOPLE!

I agree with the idea of a metabolic reset. However, bypass surgery is the best option for diabetics because it seems the gut has a big role in insulin resistance, and bypassing a portion of it is what makes those patients able to stop taking insulin so shortly after surgery. People with diabetes who get the sleeve can get the same results, but it happens over time, with weight loss.
  12. I had a lot of greek yogurt for breakfast in the beginning, it wasn't as tough to get down. And I like to have a cup of decaf hot tea every morning - the heat is soothing, and I can get started on my fluids for the day that way.

    Flippity Floppity

The only positive I've found so far is that a mammogram is a piece of cake now! The tech didn't need to work too hard to press 'em down when they are already like deflated balloons in the first place!

    girl parts

Are you sure it is your vagina, and not your urine? You could be in ketosis, which would make your urine rather unpleasant smelling.

    Have stalled at 6 months

I have been dealing with the same issue for the past month, I'm 7 months out. I've really tried to increase my physical activity. I'm also having new thyroid issues, and I'm using that as a scapegoat so I don't get too frustrated with myself.
  20. I started back with my personal trainer at 6 weeks. It wasn't difficult to resume our workouts together.

Fear of dating after major weight loss

I'm single, and one of my goals with this surgery was to increase my chances of finding someone I can spend the rest of my life with. I can understand why a man wouldn't initially be attracted to me when I was very overweight - I wasn't loving myself enough to keep myself in optimal health. And I would like to be with a man who is active and loves himself enough to stay healthy as well. I don't think that is shallow. Its about how I want to spend my life moving forward. It is a life where I can travel without worrying about fitting into airplane seats. And where I am comfortable walking around a new city all day, just exploring. And where sex is hot! I don't see myself as shallow as wanting these things. And I trust my instincts enough that I believe I will be able to know if a man truly loves me for me. What i wasn't thinking about when I imagined the post op period was dealing with incredibly saggy breasts and lots of excess skin. Not hot! And it is something that I would want to discuss with a guy before we got naked for the first time, because I'm sure I will feel insecure about it. Its just an obstacle that I hadn't considered, but I'm sure I can handle. Have others handled the skin situation yet? How did it go?
  22. That does appear to be infected. Call your surgeon and they can call an antibiotic into the pharmacy for you.
