    Started purée diet today. Help!

I also started puree foods today! I did 1/4C of refried Beans with 1 TBS cheddar cheese. I pureed it then heated it up in the microwave and topped it with 1 TSP Greek yogurt. Can I just say it was heavenly? It was so yummy! Tomorrow I'm going to poach an egg for Breakfast and have tuna salad pureed for lunch! I'm so excited lol Sheena :-)

How much liquid restriction 7 days post op

I'm 13 days out and on full liquids until tomorrow! As of now I feel like I could drink all day and not be full. I just finished a cup of tomato Soup and I feel like I could have more, but I always stop there and measure the portions my nutriritionist set out for me. I'm hoping tomorrow when I have my first puree meal I can feel the restriction people are talking about! Good luck, Sheena :-)

Sick and tired of explaining myself...

I am sorry you have to go through this! Family and friends should be supporting you and encouraging you. If I were in your place I would write a letter explaining the process and how you are following your doctor's recommendations, and how you are thankful they are trying to help but it's really not needed. Make 10 copies and give them out! I wish you nothing but the best, and I hope it all works out! Sheena :-)

    Canadians out there

I'm in Canada and didn't have to travel out of country to have surgery. But my advice if they ask is to say it's for surgery. People do it ALL the time. No reason to lie, they don't care. Safe travels and good luck on a speedy recovery! ! Sheena :-)

    Protein powder recommendations?

So yeah. ... they cancelled my order and refunded my money. So weird! I tried getting a hold of them and no reply. I'm a little mad as I have been waiting for days for this. Does anyone know where I can order the Gene pro in Kelowna BC Canada?? Thanks so much! Sheena

    Where are the November Sleevers?

Thank you Taniaceli and Silver01 for your helpful tips and advice! As the days move on it is definitely getting easier to take larger sips, so for that I am grateful. I just feel when I drink (maybe I'm trying to drink too fast) I get pain and gassy and it's very unpleasant and painful. I knew this wasn't going to be easy and I'm still thankful I did this I just thought I'd be better and drinking Water hahahaha It's tough, but with your sample menus and times I'll see if I can stick to it and get more into me. But for the record, when should someone see a doctor for dehydration? Should there be signs or symptoms I can look for? Thank you all again! I appreciate all the help and support! Sheena :-)

    Where are the November Sleevers?

Hey guys! I hope everyone is doing great! I don't know how I'm doing... I am not drinking enough and i honestly don't know how I can drink more... I'm calling my regular GP to see if I'm dehydrated and if maybe I can get some fluids. I feel like a failure in that department :-( How are you guys getting all your fluids and protein and vitamins in? Can you give me an example of how your day looks with times and what you are drinking/eating? Thanks so much!! Sheena :-)
  13. How do you know if you are dehydrated?

I enjoyed reading this! Thank you for sharing your story! Cheers to many happy and healthy years ahead! Sheena :-)
  15. If all goes well, I too will be enjoying a teaspoon of everything on Christmas day! I advance to regular eating from soft food on December 24th! It's going to be spectacular. As of now I'm on full fluids. It's okay, but next Wednesday when I move onto puree foods it's going to be heavenly! The cottage cheese is going to be magical! Hahaha Good luck everyone! Sheena :-)

    Where are the November Sleevers?

I'm so happy you haven't had any issues! That is a great thing! How far out are you now? What do you do for work? How much time did you take off of work? Good for you for getting prepared for work. What did you pack for lunch? I'm the same way where I get so busy and the time flies by and I realize it's home time in an hour and I haven't even had lunch! That is going to have to change! Good luck with your first day back at work! Sheena :-)

    Kind of a silly question......

I'm 4 days post op and right now I'm doing a teaspoon at most. Any more than the and it feels like a brick hitting my little stomach. I also use the shot glass method where I make a shot glass last for 4 sips. The way I'm not overdoing it and causing myself unnecessary pain. Sheena :-)

    Protein powder recommendations?

I just ordered GENEPRO... I haven't really tried anything else, but I've heard it dissolves in almost anything and you can use it in hot or cold foods. I liked that it only takes one TBS for 30 g of Protein compared to some powders using 1/4-1/2C for the same amount of protein. I will test it out and give you the feedback as soon as it arrives! Sheena :-)

Ready to eat the FURNITURE! @_@

I can so relate! My surgeon had me on 5 Boost diabetic shakes a day and unlimited Water for FOUR weeks! It was tough! Especially the first 5 days. After that I wasn't really craving anything, but it was still hard cooking and watching people eat... I had to cook for my hubby and small kids so I would break up my day like this to avoid temptation: -1 shake for Breakfast Water, water , water -1 shake for lunch Water water water -1 shake while cooking dinner -1 shake while they were eating dinner. Then more water with crystal light - 1 shake in the evening. I even froze some into Popsicles for a change, and I would add ice cubes in a blender with a shake to change it up. When I was having a weak moment I would come on the forum and look at before and after pictures and remember why I'm doing this. Or I would journal how I was feeling. I just kept telling myself this is such a SMALL portion of my life and I WILL be able to eat food again, the food I love just in way smaller portions and that helped too. I KNOW you can do this! Remember this is a fraction of the journey to come, and you are going to be a success story! Good luck! Sheena :-)

    Where are the November Sleevers?

I was also sleeved on November 26th! It's been interesting. .. I'm having a hard time with getting in all my fluids and Protein in. I'm sure it will come with time....I hope! What stage does your doctor have you on? I'm on full fluids, so I had cream of chicken Soup today and it was the most amazing thing EVER! LOL How are things going with you? ? Sheena :-)

Lurking for 2 years, Gastric Sleeve surgery tomorrow!

This is a great idea! I'm stealing it lol
  24. Well everyone, I have been lurking these boards and gaining information and seeing so many success stories for TWO whole years, and my day has finally arrived! I will be checking into the hospital at 9:45 am and having sleeve surgery at 11:45am. It is surreal and exciting and emotional all in one. I'm in Victoria (2 hrs by plane and 7 hrs by car) away from home and alone. Unfortunately my family couldn't be here with me :-( My hubby and I have 2 small children and I didn't want to uproot them and leave them with just anyone for this length of time (7 days). My parents are so supportive and wanted to take my kids, but they are so busy with getting custody less than a week ago of my 1 year old nephew that I thought it would be waayyy too much for them! They really wanted to take my kids, but I just felt bad. They are dealing with enough already and I don't want to add to their stress. So we decided that my man should stay home and be there for the kids. Honestly I thought it would be harder, but it's been good so far. I am BORED out of my mind though without the fam to keep me company. Other than that I'm doing better than I thought. I have been waiting for so so long for this and I hope everything goes well tomorrow! I'm excited to start this chapter of my life and really start living this life! I can't wait for this body to be able to experience new things!!! Sheena :-)
