I Want To See Before & After Pics!

I had a cough when I went to surgery and my doctor just told me that for the next few days to hold the pillow close to my stomach when I cough. You just can't have fever 48 hours from your surgery. However, the decision it's going to be up to your doctor. Best of luck!!! -
I Lived Through This Surgery, My Sister Didn't.
iris26 replied to LyndseyD's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
My heart goes out to you and your family. It will take a long time before you can ease some of the pain. Thanks for sharing this story because we often heard all the positive of the surgery and hardly heard the downside. I hope in time your family can heal. Bless you and your family. -
By Valentine day I would like to be 180lbs.

It is one of my fast food favorite food that my tummy can tolarate. I get the large one and I eat it for lunch for 3-4 days. It usually add some water to it because it can consume high sodium but it has protein and low carbs.

I'm glad that you are getting the sleeve surgey. It was the best decision that I did for myself. I was 265 and on December 17, 2012 I got the sleeve survey. I weight 188lbs currently and probably could have lost more weight but right after my survey I went back to school to finalize my Master degree. I graduated on Dec 2013. During my journey, I was balancing with my new way of eating, taking care of my family, working full time as HR Manager, and going to school. I was blessed by having a very supportive husband and co workers. Nobody in my family knows about the surgery. I chose to never tell anyone except my hubby and girls. My family would have never approved of it. This was my first surgery and I was very scare, but after the first two weeks I was pain free and back to work. Today I track everything I eat and always try to stay eating high protein and low carbs. This will be my new way of always eating healthy for the rest of my life. After graduating, I have been doing exercise every day rain or shine for 30 minutes to 1 hour. My whole family is eating healthier because I refuse to cook two different meal. I don't drink sodas or eat pizza because I just don't want to gain weight. I have lost weight very slowly but now that I'm a bit of relax and plan I g my meals better I have started to lost 2-3 lbs a week. The sleeve is just a tool to help you lost weight is your food intake is 80% and exercise is 20% that will keep you on the right track. Best of luck on your surgery. I uses my fitness pal (apps) if you want to befriend me my user name is "rgriffin26"

I was sleeve 12/17/12 weighted 265 lbs. I was doing grad school and I could hardly follow all the rules of eating and exercising. Today I weight 189 lbs. I have lost 76 lbs but now I'm done with grad school. I graduated on 12/15/13 with my MBA. So now there are no more excuses. I have been focusing on my food intake and exercising everyday. I was size 22 and now I'm size 14. My new year resolution is to lose 6 lbs every month and by April to weight around 165lbs. I feel great and I'm please with my weight lost.

All of my December sleevers...
iris26 replied to blkdiamond377's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hi- don't sound so negative. Not everyone loses their weight over night. You are doing great. I have been a slower weight lost person I have lost about 70lbs since 12-17-12 but I don't put myself down. I finished my master program and now I'm starting to work out but I still struggle with the lack that everyone seems to have lost more weight than me but I constantly tell myself I'm 70 lbs lighter than a year ago and I have about 30 more lbs to go so 2014 that will be my focus. Love yourself for all your accomplishments, track your food intake and get walking regardless of where you work. Hand in there and you will get to your goal in a year or two. Best of luck and determination is my inspiration. -
All of my December sleevers...

I was sleeve on 12/17 and I'm down 34 lbs. I weighted 252 and today I weight 218. I have been walking everyday and going to Curves 4 times a week. I record everything I eat and the hardest thing is getting all my water in. -
I finally got my surgery. I'm excited yet a bit scare. Anyone else having surgery on this day?
-
Hi Sadlers1999, I was sleeve on 12/17. When I started my liquid diet pre-op I weight 252. The day of surgery I weight 234.8. Then, today I weight 226 lbs; since surgery I have lost 8 lbs. Everyone lose weight differently and you don't need to worry. As long as you are follow doctor order and eating as you were told you will start losing weight. Be patient, remember we didn't gain our weight overnight. Also, keep in mind that not everyone have the same BMi and the ones with higher BMi can lose more than somebody with a low BMi. Keep logging your food intake, drink your Water and start your exercise. Best of luck!

I was sleeve on 12/17 and the first three days were the hardest. Gas pain do go away with time. I can now get my 64 oz of water and today I can start stage 2 purée food. So, be patient, have the right attitude, sleep a lot, sip, sip, sip liquids and in couple more days you will be feeling much better. Merry Christmas and be bless that you got your best gift ever a new start in life. -

iris26 replied to thensley820's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It will get easier soon. Be patient and keep sipping and walking. -
Send me your number and I can call you. I have been sleeve since Monday, 12/17

I had surgery on Monday and today I'm feeling better. I hope you all start feeling better soon. Some people said that you can start having sex after one or two weeks. It just depends on your body.

How is everyone doing after your surgery 12/17? I will start by telling everyone that right after surgery I was kept under pain medications which was great no pains until the next day. Tuesday I was being discharge and gas was awful. Every time I drink I felt like like I need to burped. Then, today, I took the nausea medication and it made me sick. I no longer take the pain medication. I still have gas but walking is helping. I love to blend the ice and pour little apple juice light and I can hold it in without pain. I'm taking a shower today and will try chicken broth soup tonight. Share your story with us.

I had my surgery yesterday, 12/17 and I'm feeling sore. However, I woke up at 1 am and I thought I was having a heart attack. The nurse said it is gas. Have anyone experience this?and what can you do to make it better? The nurse said that is from the surgery and beside walking there is nothing they can give me.
