I'm not sure what my be going on in your life but you need to remember that you have gone through a lot of sacrifices and you need to stop eating junk food. Something is targeting those bad habits. Whatever it is you are just going to have to fight the temptation. Try to go back to basic 40-60 grams of protein and 30-40 grams of carbs. It's a life style change and it takes time! You can do this!!! Stay focus and don't over stress. Start tomorrow again!!!

When I was 8 months out I had to put everything on hold. I was in my last year of getting my master degree. I didn't have any time to exercise, cook or track my food. I was working full time, trying to keep up with my family and trying to keep up with school. I was stress and I couldn't lose weight. For 3 months all was protein shakes and tried to eat healthy hit it was impossible as we were always eating out. I gain 5 lbs and then I started thinking that it's okay because of everything I was going threw. However, after I graduated I had to restart. I started by eating 60-80grams of protein. I track everything I was eating. I stop eating chips, m&m (my 1am snack when I had to read), I cut all the junk food. It was like I was restarting the program. I started losing weight again and then after a month I started exercising. I had to force myself to exercise. You can do this. Just start by doing the basics protein, water, vitamins, veggies, and cut the junk out. Set small goals and track everything. Try different exercise walk one day, next day do weight lifting, dance or aerobics. Don't try doing everyone at once. You got this!!!

Frustrated with the stall
iris26 replied to SuperKen's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Stalls are part of losing weight. I have had several stalls in my journey. It has been 14 months ago since I had the surgery and I have had at least 5 times a stall and the longest lasted 6 weeks. I think my body was testing me. -
The big closet clean
iris26 replied to LoveNKindness's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It was a mix feeling for me as well when I had to get rid off all my 18W to 22W. Then, I had to do it again as I got smaller and removed all my 14-16w. I just can't believe that in a year I have gone from 22w to size 12 and soon I will be in size 10 pants and tops from 2xl to large and some medium. I didn't wanted to get rid off my clothes because I was afraid that I would start gaining but i just had to tell myself that if I continue following the doctor orders I should sustain my weight lost. I love the new me!!! -
3 weeks out and already at a plateau...what the heck?!
iris26 replied to Hayesc's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was in a stall for 3 months but I finally started losing again and every few months for whatever reason my body stops losing weight. While in the stall I continue to do the same thing protein, low carb, water and exercise. I noticed that for most part it last about 3-4 weeks and then I start losing again. -
Way it go to everyone!!! Great job!

I'm was sleeve. 12/2012 I have lost 83 lbs but still need to Lise 18 lbs to hit my goal weight. I went from 265 to 182lbs. From size 22w to 12. I workout and track everything I put in my mouth. I still eat small portions and high protein and low carbs. I have been losing 1 lbs a week. I hope to make my goal weight by June. I have gain weight occasionally but just 1-2 lbs the most. If I eat out or late I gain weight.

I have only told my hubby, daughters and a friend that also had the surgery. I didn't drop all my weight at once. My co-workers saw me eating less and drinking protein shakes. They saw me walking around my building and leaving from work with my workout outfit. I continue wearing clothes baggy and it was not until 6 months later they started asking me what the heck I'm doing to lose weight since I had to get new clothes. I just told them I change my eating habits and I'm exercising more. Now that I have lost 85 lbs they all tell me how great I look. I just tell them I'm working out hard doing boot camp and going to the gym everyday. I don't have any regrets of keeping it my secret. I know that this was a tool I needed to lose my weight and I'm proud that I didn't share it with anybody. At the end of the day, you need to do what is best for you.

I was up during the week and today I weight 184. I think my body doesn't know what to so since I'm exercising everyday. I think I need to increase my calories to 800.

I have been on a stall going on three weeks. I'm not sure what the heck I'm doing wrong but I'm working out like crazy and tracking everything I ear in MFP. I have up my calories one day out of the week and nothing. I just keep doing the same thing 70g Protein, 60g of carb or less, 8+ glasses of Water and exercise 6 days out of the week. I still need to lose 20lbs and the scale is not moving.???? However, I'm still very happy that I had the surgery. Everyone is asking me what the heck I'm doing to lose weight. This is my little secret that I didn't tell anyone except my hubby and my mother in law. My parents saw me after 6 months of my surgery and they couldn't believe the weight loss. It makes me happy that they no longer talk to me about my weight.

Losing it- Stall advice
iris26 replied to GotItDoneInHarlem's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have been in a stall for two weeks now. I'm doing bootcamp 3 days per week burned 600-800 calories, 6 days elliptical 35 minutes burning 500 cal, and do weight lifting & yoga 3x per week. I eat between 30-50g of carbs and between 70-90g of protein and my calories are 600 - 800. I'm losing inches but the scale is not moving. It is very hard to not get discourage. I was in a three month stall back in August to November. I was not to worry because I figured it was because I was not exercising and I was stress with finalizing my graduate school. All I was focusing was making sure I was getting my protein in and watching my food intakes. Since December I have been losing weight again 3-4 lbs per week. I have to take milk magnesium in order to go to the bathroom. I started taking "get regular" hot tea and it works but since I started taking the tea I have not lose any weight. My doctor said it's normal to have a stall and to keep doing low carb and high protein. I have stop eating after 7pm and nothing. I'm going back to taking two protein shakes and just one meal. I'm going to increase my water intake and reduce my workouts. I sure hope my scale start moving because I'm getting very discourage. -
Anyone having issues getting motivated to exercise?
iris26 replied to wonderwoman75's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I understand what you are feeling. It took me 6-8 months to realize that I need to do exercise. I started slow by just walking around my house for 15 minutes before going to work and 15 minutes after work. I decided to start going to a gym because they were waiving registration fee. I join the gym and for a month I didn't go because I was tired and I was still losing weight. I pushed myself to do exercise because I don't want to be sagging everywhere. Everyday I have to push myself to do exercise. My husband tells me the hardest thing about exercise is getting started. Today, I do 3 days bootcamp, 3 days yoga and 6 days Cardio. I got two teenagers girls that pushes me to workout. Find a friend or family member and do exercise together. It helps if you can get a trainer. I will never love exercise but it will be a part of my lifestyle. "Success must be felt within before it can be seen on the outside " -
I know exactly what you are going threw. I have been in a stall for 6 weeks. I still have to lose 18lbs to hit my goal. I have lost 89lbs since surgery. I'm tracking everything I'm eating. I'm trying to stay within my low carbs of 40g and 70-90g of Protein. I'm exercising 6 days per week. I talked to my nutritionist and she said that I need to drink Water. Take your Vitamins and she wanted me to eat one day of the week 1200 cal. to reset my body. Any feedback I would be interest on finding out. Some veterans sleevers are doing the 5:2 diet. I'm not sure what 5:2 diet is? But I plan to look into this.
