We have an appt on Thurs 11 @9:15 am with Dr K the whole family will be traveling as this is our fall break. We are going to make it a short vacation/fill trip.Hey guys when are you going to Red Robin have you finalized the date?

Dear Wrkl8nod8, Well now we know who the mystery patient Dr K had done that day. Ha! We were all wondering. We all had met each other but didn"t know who you were. My husband has done great no diarrhea but lots of swelling in his upper abdomen. Goes down at night and reswells during the day. I fell this is normal because many have talked about it here on the boards. Good Luck to you you might want to call Dr K about the diarrhea and see if you can take something OTC like immodium it comes in liquid and also try deinking Gatorade I know it is full of sugar but you are in the healing phase right now and the extra calories and sugar are not going to hurt you unless you are diabetic.

Dear Karen, My husband and I are both bandsters, my surgery was in Nov 06 in Louisville, Ky almost $19,000. His surgery was last week by Dr K we had lots of questions. Was he real was this legitimate were we wasting a lot of time and money? Was this the best choice? I have to say I was very impressed. I don't think my husband received any less care than I did. He did have less pre-op testing( testing before surgery) but was the EKG, LABS,UGI all necessary or just another way for the hospital to make more money? Dr K uses an Outpatient Surgical Center attached to a hospital. You will find out after talking to him why he is doing this.He wanted to give pts an alternative to Mexico at close to the same price. He uses the new Allergan AP lapband,better than the one I have. I have lost 100 lbs, about 20 was prior to banding. We will return to CO for his fills you can travel a lot for $9,000. So if you have any doubts this is normal, Dr K is real and a very nice man. He has a true compassion for changing peoples lives.

Dear dynamomini, Would love to come to Red Robin tomorrow night my husband is getting banded by Dr K tomorrow at Crown Point. I am a bandster from Nov 06. I have lost about 95 lbs in all. We probably won't get discharged until late and I don't want to leave him alone. I know you guys have agreat time. I have been trying to catchup with wanttobemeagin,we've fust talked on the phone so far. She is quite nervous. Maybe I can catch you all on another trip when we come for a fill or something.

Hey guys, My doctor told me that the weight loss will cause hormonal changes and this is the reason for the hair loss, not the lack of vitamins or protein. Maybe a ob/gyn md might be able to advise on this if itis truly hormonal. Stephz:)

Dear wanttobemeagain, We are flying to Denver on Sunday the 9th and he will see Dr K on Monday 10 @2pm he"s scheduled for surgery on 9/11 @ 3pm. We will return home to Ky on Wednesday 9/12. We are staying at the Holiday Inn in Parker. Hopefully we will get to meet up. I have been pleased with my success. I only hate that my MD will not do any fills. I spoke to him at my last appt. and he almost seemed very mad about him going there to do this his part is $4000 and the hospital gets $14000. I told his portion is not bad but hes going to have to find somewhere else to do this...and he agreed.

Dearwanttobemeagain, My husband is having surgery on 9/11 with Dr K. I am a lap band pt that was done locally for $18K+ I have done very well.We are looking forward to this. I have lost 85 lbs. since Nov 2006. We live in Kentucky. With travel costs etc. it is a much cheaper alternative and I think Dr. K is setting a trend and it won't be long and other MD's will jump on the "band" wagon. Ha! Stephanie Z

Hey Suzie, Is this clinic willing to do your fills? even though you had the surgery in mexico. If so do you know what the charge is? We live in Western Ky and we are looking for someone to do fills. My husband is probably going to Dr K in Colorado just because itis so much cheaper.

I had my surgery in NOV 06 I have lost about 75 lbs. Dr Olsofka in Louisville did mine. I was self pay my insurance anthem at the time would not pay. It has been great Dr. O has been wonderful as well as the girls @ STS. Marys. I thought it would be forever but it finally happened and I have no regrets only that I didn' t do it sooner.
