800-1100 calories a day? Really? Do you all really feel satisfied on that?
-
Thanks Kel. I actually just talked with her a little bit ago and she emailed me some info sheets. Hopefully the information will help me.

NSVs-Off diabetes medication, blood pressure and heart rate under better control, more energy, asthma/lung wheezing is gone.....yes, when I look at it that way, I have had a lot of NSVs but I just thought I would have lost more weight by now. I'm not exercising. I know I should be but I hate it so much. My husband is supposed to try to adjust the belt on our treadmill. Right now it slips a lot when I'm walking on it and I am afraid I will fall. I'm wondering if I weigh too much to be on it but I think the weight limit is 275 and I weigh about 264.

What habits did you replace eating with?
mandi78 replied to kimmi5207's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Me Too!!! I also enjoy painting ceramics. It keeps my hands busy and keeps me occupied for hours. I get so involved that I don't even think about food. I do still struggle at times though. I have found things that I can eat in larger quantities that go right through. I wish they wouldn't. I'm still working on it. -
I have always liked chocolate but usually I could take it or leave it. I would buy a bag of chocolate candies and it would last for weeks. Now, since surgery, I have been craving it like crazy and want it every single day. It's an overwhelming craving that I can't seem to shake until I have some. Does anyone know what could be causing this? I take my Flintstones vitamins.

So you guys are able to eat the calcium chews without a problem? I've been scared to try any sticky type stuff since I had an issue with jelly beans awhile back. I will try the chews and see if that helps. The calcium cant hurt and those lemon chewable calcium tablets I have been taking are not very good. -
Hi, I had my surgery back in September. Well, a few minutes ago I was making the bed and bumped my hand on something right where my IV was during surgery. Now there is a knot coming up there and it's very sore and tender. Could this cause a blood clot or anything else serious? Thanks. Mandi

I feel the same way. I am about to get my third fill and am hoping for a change. I can eat a lot more than I want to be able to. Still not as much as before but more than I should to lose. I keep craving salty, crunchy, snacky stuff like the soy crisps, chex mix, chips/dip, etc. And, so if I want it, I eat it. I know it's head hunger and not true hunger that I'm struggling with most of the time. I want restriction to the point of the thought of food making me sick.

Have you tried cooking chicken in a crockpot to see if you can eat that? I cooked some chicken and potatoes in the crockpot tonight with a can of 98% ff cream of mushroom soup, one packet of dry onion mushroom soup and 1/2 cup of water. It was very tender and easy to chew. It was thighs though which don't dry out as bad as breasts do. Good luck!

I haven't tried steak but bread has not been too much of a problem for me so far. I do have to be careful and eat it slowly though and if it's a bun, I usually wind up taking most of the top off. I've only had 2 fills so far though.

Why am I craving chocolate every day?!?!

I tried the Big Train low carb hot cocoa last night and it is soooo GOOD! Too bad it has 3 grams of fat for a cup of hot cocoa. I guess for it to taste good it has to have carbs or fat one. LOL -
Who knew it was so good? I've seen it in the store and heard of it but I've never been much of a hot tea drinker so I never tried it. However, I got a sample of spiced low carb chai in my bariatriceating.com sampler kit and I just fixed it and it is soooo good! It even smells wonderful too.

I have really been wanting shrimp lately...it's funny how my tastes have changed. Shrimp was something I rarely ate and never craved before but I loved burgers and now the thought of a hamburger repulses me. Anyway, I have been scared to try the shrimp though for fear of getting stuck. Luckily, I have not been stuck or PBd at all since surgery and I have a fair amount of restriction right now. I know shrimp can be hard to chew, chew, chew into almost liquid due to the texture. Do any of you eat it or is it not something that would be good for a bandster to try? Thanks.

I got my bodybugg a week ago and I have set up my account online but my coach still has not called me. I thought they were supposed to call within 72 hours of setting it up or something like that. I set it up on Monday. Is there something else I am supposed to do to get them to call me?

I feel this too...especially if I take a drink after eating several bites. It does kind of hurt. I know I'm eating too fast and not chewing well enough. I'm working on it but it is hard to break a lifetime of habits.

My first fill at SCOR was done by Laura.....she was wonderful. Painless and perfect on the first try. My 2nd one was done by someone else (Kelly?) and it was awful. She poked and dug and gouged around so much that I almost passed out. I could feel my face burning and just that light-headed feeling and I was laying down. It was not a good experience. If you are self-pay and are still within your one year of free fills, is the fluoroscopy done (if needed) at no extra charge?

rebellerina-Try registering on the site. It's free and they may give you an automatic discount (add the body bugg to your shopping cart) once you are registered.

Ok, this probably sounds dumb but are you embarrassed to wear your body bugg? People around here are so nosy and I don't feel like explaining it to everyone in the world so I haven't even worn it yet (i got it about a week ago). I know this sounds trivial.....don't worry what others think, etc but I can't help it. Do your shirt sleeves cover it up well? I usually wear short sleeves cause I'm hot natured. Thanks.

bbgray-Will your surgeon not let you come in sooner than January for another fill?

A thread for super-sized bandsters - starting BMI over 50?

dreno-Genisoy has some great soy protein snacks that I love. I have tried the smart hearts and the crispy dippers as they are the only ones our wal mart carries. They are both delicious and low in fat and calories for a pretty good sized serving. I'm thinking about ordering some of this other stuff off their website. They have a lot of their snacks on sale right now and with any order, you get a free breast cancer awareness t-shirt and a free bag of crisps! Genisoy | Snacks -
The nurse practitioner dug around in there forever doing my fill....it was not pleasant. Now my stomach (not my actual stomach but my belly on the outside) is a bit swollen and soft like it was after surgery. Is this normal?
-
Are we able to get on the site before we recieve our bugg to look around? If so, how do I get to it?
-
Ladies and gentlemen, we have restriction. WOOHOO! I got my 2nd fill yesterday and can DEFINITELY tell a difference. It's great. I drank 2 small cups of apple juice this morning and was planning on having a protein shake on my way to work but I was so full from the apple juice, I had to put my protein shake in the fridge for later. This is great. I don't really care for the tightness I feel in my chest/throat area but I can deal with it because I LOVE not being hungry....woohoo!!!
