UGGGGGHHHHHH I am STUCK!
No game replied to kortolano's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yep chicken is hard for some.... So it sounds like you don't have a stricture, although I would if wanted and endoscopy over a barium swallow but I guess the doctor saw what he needed to see. Weight does slow after 6 months but the sliders (as you know) are going to be the problem. I would eat the meats that you can and veg rather than go back to liquids. Also plain greek yogurt with berries are a good snack/meal with tons of protein. -

Ok, have you asked your surgeon about this?? An oz is rather small. Do you measure it? -

Hey! That is my 1 year anniversary! Sometimes band to sleeve patients have a harder time losing because the sleeve is not able to be formed the same. But as with everything in life you have to comply and put the hard work in too. -

I doubt that prevention is their main motivation. Just saying.... -

Aw guys! I remember those days! Just reading what you guys wrote brings me back... Like I said even though I was warned about the natural depression it didn't make it a lot easier when I was in the thick of it. I was lucky because my husband was prepared for it to. And well lets just say he's a patient man Wags yes how does one go to the movies? Enjoy a birthday party? Christmas? OMG thanksgiving? They all conjure up food to me. It takes a long time to not associate birthday with cake. Not that you can't have a piece but if you are like me that was the MAIN thing Also for the most part everyone around you will still associate gatherings with food. We can't change that. The further out I get the more at ease I have become with it. Sometimes people eat in front of me. And I don't partake if I'm not hungry why should I? For instance yesterday after a bike ride, my husband and I stopped at a little cafe for coffee He saw giant muffins and wanted one but wasn't going to because of me... I assured him it was ok, and you know what? it was! Because I wasn't hungry right then. I realized just because there is food and someone else is hungry it doesn't mean I have to eat! Simple I know but I'm a little slow on the uptake. -

Sorry you're so sad right now. The first month was definitely the hardest! I spent days just crying, no not because of the physical pain from surgery but depression. You are going through one of the hardest transitions of your life and the thing you are transitioning away from? Your comfort, you're companion, your coping mechanism... Food. It gets better I promise. Just know that what your going through is a normal mourning process. And you will come out the other side a happier healthier person -
Ok feed.. I went to costco and of all the things in the world what should I see??? A big ole box of ancient grain (spelt, kamut, quinoa, amaranth) organic GRANOLA So what do it do? Yep I bought it. On no it's like little golden nuggets of crack! There goes my weight!

BACON!!! I love my husband.... Really I do, but I want to kill him when he cooks bacon! We actually fight about it sometimes.. It smells the house up and if I'm wearing something nice it will stink like bacon the rest of the day... And yes I want to eat it all The other thing that really gets me is toast. Warm toast and butter the ultimate comfort food.

Swizzly!! That's awful! I'm so sorry that happened to you. I know you must be in a funk I would be if I came home to find out we were violated in such a way.. Take care of yourself. And once again I'm so sorry this happened to you

Does anyone miss being overweight?

I imagine if you are a person that likes being extra large (like a friend of mine) you would not have this surgery... Oh, and as far as being "invisible" when your fat? I felt that way too. But it's just not true! I stuck out like a sore thumb! Really when I got back into a more normal weight I felt more "anonymous" when out and about.. -

At four weeks out there was no way I could of eaten pizza, fries or salads. Even though I was blessed with the sleeve of steel at four weeks my digestion was still a mess... Premier Protein shakes are shelf stable, you might want to bring some of those. And if worse comes to worse and IF you're on real food by then??? A part of a burger patty (no bun) might work.
