What Should You Have In Your Fridge "when You Come Home From Having The Sleeve Done"?
No game replied to JewelJ's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well granola will be way down the road as far as being able to eat it again. Even then you may chose not to eat it.. In the beginning before surgery I made sure I had a wide variety of no calorie drinks, drops, mixes, pre made.. Because liquids are the most important in the first weeks to get in and you never know what will be tolerated after surgery. You will follow a set eating plan for months and all drs are different.. Basics though are protein drinks (I like premier pre made) Yogurt (Greek is best) Broths and creamed soups. homemade broths are best and will be your friend in the first weeks. Canned broths suck! Sugar free pudding -
You know what I found weird the last couple of days?? Newbies asking ok guys which is "better" The band or sleeve. Then you have all these infomercials trying to sway them to either side. I find it creepy and have not participated. I did my independent research. And that is what each new prospective WLS patient should do also. Not have a bunch of people taking pop shots at each surgery.. And in closing? THE SLEEVE IS BETTER!!!

Don't forget the green zone!!!
-
They just say that because it's the best they got... I mean, if they think putting a leash (or muzzle) around their stomach is more natural?! So be it. Now knock it off I don't feel like fighting with banders today...
-
Ok is never heard of miss me I just looked them up... Nice but I don't like my skinny jean to have all the embellishment on the back pockets. But the cut look really good!
-
I agree and he's working on it.. Actually our group fix was supposed to be last because he has so much to fix but he did a special favor and really work the guys overtime to get this (our group) fixed. So he's asking for patience I must give it to him now
-
Butter great field!! Is that in Texas??? I didn't know you guys could grow flowers there... I thought it was just all churches and pickup trucks
-
Totally hidden no one can see it now.. I tested it out a few minutes ago under a different users name just to make sure it doesn't show up under currents (beside for us) and after searching groups they can't get beyond our mission statement page. Before the change to the new site they could still read but not post..And I did get a few people (vets and newbies) that PMed before hand asking that we not hide it from view because they found it helpful even though they don't do the 5:2.. But it seems that most of everyone in the group preferred private. So if it keeps us together I'm all for it

-
Ok just tested it we are not only closed but we are hidden so no one can read it anymore.
-
Hi girls Alex thinks he may have fixed the group. So we are private again...
-
Girl.. You just didn't post all that in the mans room! Get ready for the private messages to start!

How Much Are U "eating"?
No game replied to luvzpitbullz's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Lol! I know the hunger Yep I would definitely measure.. That early out I was told to eat no more than 1/4 cup of purée at a sitting.. Not sure what your doc says. Meals will be frequent like every couple of hours. But keep them small because feeling isn't back yet. That's why you felt it in your throat instead of your stomach most likely. -
Attitude And Emotions

Well... It does help yes! But I'm still a lazy slob Yes talking about it with people here definitely helps me because you guys just "get it" Therapy.. I've been doing that for years. But also I talk to my husband a lot about my emotions. I still get mad but I'm more apt to tell him how I'm feeling and also that it still makes me want to eat and it's nice to be able to open up about that. You know, getting that secret out there. It's really helped.. The honesty. -

Lol it's good to do. But I tell you, sometimes I'd be mad and my husband would be like "ok Laura I know what's going on your having a hard day right" And that would piss me off even more I'd be like "no mother fucker I'm fine it's you! Your an ass!" -
Attitude And Emotions

Well it does get better. But it does take awhile and some work. Food and emotions, emotions and food... They went hand in hand for so many years, I can no longer turn to my friend, my comfort, my nemesis, food. There were days it wasn't pretty. At a year? It's better.. But I'm still working on new ways to cope. -

Oh and op. I've noticed and read that lap band to sleeve patients have a little more capacity. I wouldn't worry but you should measure your food out this early and not rely on full signals just yet the stomach is still numb swollen and healing. -

Attitude And Emotions

The best thing to do is talk to them about it now, so they can understand where it's coming from. You are making possibly the biggest change you'll ever make in life, and change isn't always easy. It helped my husband a bit to understand it wasn't him (sometimes) -
Attitude And Emotions
No game replied to Simpley_ke's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well after reading that I was a bit scared to answer... But yes I found that going into surgery my emotions were all over the place. And not just because of the major surgery I was about to get. It was everything. I am fat. What have I come to that I need to do something so radical. What if I fail again. Am I making a mistake. These and many other thoughts guided my days. I have to say my moodiness did not end right after surgery either. I was prepared and so was my husband, but it didn't make it any easier somedays. I said to myself ok you can't be trusted with food so you are essentially going to take your free will to eat away for a long while. But those days, weeks following surgery? I missed food, I missed the act of eating, I knew I would, I mean that what I signed up for right? But it was a painful mental breakup. I wanted to binge and sooth myself. We just went through something major and our main source of self soothing has been taken away! So my nerves were raw, and I went through some feisty days.. All I can say is it is an emotional roller coaster, warn those around you, that you may have some mood swings, and when you are feeling them, recognize them for what they are and be kind to yourself and others
