Sorry to hear that. If it were me I'd tell them to hide the knives !! It is unheard of for anyone in our family to not be there fir Christmas and at first I felt selfish of not going. But then I realized I've lived my life worry about other people and their needs. Now is the time to think about ME

Lol I feel you on that one!! My mom came over to take me to the hospital. When I opened the door she had two trays of cookies and a cookie hanging out of her mouth!! We are taking the kids to Disney land on Christmas so I don't have to sit around and watch the food fest!!

Yogurt yes make sure it's sugar free activa has a few that are sugar free. Oh and they have to be low fat also with no fruit chunks

My husband is an PA. He works in the the local ER. He is awesome at what he does! Under the title of PA they can do most anything a Doctor can do,but they cannot preform surgeries .

I drink 2 premier protein shakes a day... They have 30 grams of protein each. And you can buy them at Costco, SAMs club and various other places. I do the chocolate and the vanilla ones. Sometimes I put them in the refrigerator but lately I like them better at room temp.

Bigger sips today...concerned

What I find laughable is that anyone thinks this a miracle cure. If you want to eat you will be able to do so ask all the people who gained the weight back after being sleeved for awhile. The original poster was concerned about getting to much liquid in and wondered if her sleeve was to big. I have to say I wondered the same thing at some point !! If your reasoning is that the sleeve will miraculously change your discipline or lack there of, good luck to you. But the major changes that need to be made are hard ones and they are not in your stomach they need to take place in your head. -
All I have to say is that you were beautiful then! And you are even more beautiful now!!

See!! That's what keeps me going!

It will get better especially when your clothes start looking ridiculously big on you !! It makes it all worth it

I'm four weeks out and about the three week mark I felt physically better. Food is interesting in the sense that I still want it but its my head that wants it not my stomach so much. So it is really important to try to change your relationship with food. It's hard because I needed comforting and food to me is comforting.

I think what you are feeling is normal reaction you just had major surgery.. Getting water in the first couple of days is not easy. But it will get easier every day I went through so many emotions that first week. It was harder than I thought it was going to be! And yes I went through wanting real food! The first day I could have puréed chicken was the best, which is funny because pre surgery I was like I am not eating ground up watery meat

I think old butterbean has a point the sleeve isn't a miracle worker on its own. I am four weeks out and if I want to eat more than I should I could and I can chose crappy food to eat also. But I have to make the choice not not. Liquids go down way easy.. When you get to food proteins will really fill you up fast. But put a plate of mashed potatoes in front of me no telling how much I could get in !! -

This is life changing you will not eat the same again it's hard, I am for weeks out and glad I did it. But I had 100 pounds to lose. Put a lot of thought into it because now that's its done, my free choice has been taken away. I say that because some days I'm nauseous all day somedays I wish I could eat with family or friends. In my head I'm still hungry but the minute I start eating something it is so uncomfortable. It's no fun at all. It was the best move for me but I know that I need to work on my longing for food. This is not an easy route don't let anyone make you believe it is.. I'm not trying to talk you out of it. Just make sure you really want to make these drastic changes. -

Ginny I'm 4 weeks out and some days i feel queasy all day then the next day I'm fine. No rhyme or reason.. I think our stomachs are still working things out. I drink two premier protein shakes a day each one has 30 grams of protein. -

Hi I started at 235. Day of surgery 11-13-12 I was 225. Today I am at 209. I read about massive weight being dropped from people who were sleeved the same day as me . But we are all different and I try to be happy with my loss. Oh and by the way I'm 5'4 . -
Boston George welcome to the club... I'm two weeks out and it happened to me yesterday. Left side right below the rib. I did a lot of reading about it, seems really common. I talked with my doctor today and he said the same thing, common. Just try not to over do it everything is still healing. But I also read it could take months of that pain coming and going

I am taking just a generic chewable multi vitamin.. Liquid is gross.. And a chewable b-12 by Natrol. I need to order calcium because everyplace seem to not have chewable "citrate". I was in two days I really wanted one but I didn't get operated on till almost 7:00 pm!! They had a major problem with a patient earlier that backed them up. I liked that we all got our own rooms (yes there were other girls there getting the same thing) . It's hard but no regrets.

1 Week Out Are Seeds In Smoothie Ok, Help
No game replied to fastforward's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm pretty sure that you are not supposed to have anything with seeds. May not go well with the healing as they may get stuck -
Ok today is my day, sitting here with no sleep sick to my stomach and scared! I have to wait 2 more hours but I wish I could go now and get it done. I've read a lot of these posts and have learned a lot of people have to go through six months of appointments. In a way I feel like my time from the first consultation to now has been really to short.. But now I think it's good that's it's gone so fast because I've only had weeks to freak out instead of months..

Anyone Else Going Through This?
No game replied to Huntingnurse's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think starting now and keeping it up till the full liquid phase dont try to keep it up do it! Start small,i did it by cutting out little things like soda ( 1 year off those and it was hard) coming close to the liquid diet i started to replace one meal with a protien shake and stuck to it then as i got closer still, 2 meals of a protein shake...
