How was your 5:2 day today?

Cowgirl I'm wondering about what days to fast next week too... I have never switched my days not once since starting 5:2 I've skipped fasts because of vacation but not said "oh today's not good I'll do tomorrow" only because I know me and when I start doing that, tomorrow never comes I'm struggling and the holidays aren't even here yet... I realized I'm eating like someone who's maintenance even though I don't think I'm quite there yet.. I'm holding somewhat steady between 149 and 150 but I'm finding myself getting more lax everyday!! Yesterday my son had a potluck at his school and we had a ton of pumpkin chocolate chip cookies left so they came back home with us... I ate 4 last night Thinking about it, my carb sugar load has been heavy all week and protein consumption is down. I'm scared, scared of myself actually. Sorry this post turned out to be just another all about me.. Anyway fast next week for me perhaps Tuesday and Friday.
  2. Girl, rule number #1 do not eat in bed. I've read the food philosophy thread and a couple of others that you have posted in the last couple of days (stalker? No there just isn't much going in here) and you seem at a crossroads... Are you happy at your weight? You said that if you never lost another pound you would be pleased. You mentioned that you don't want to diet. But we do have to change our diet in order to lose this weight. It's not just about eating less it's about eating better. Right now with the exception of eating in bed (not good anytime) you sound like you are eating to maintain.. Which isn't a bad thing if you are happy where you are at.. Well except you really should eat more Protein sorry your daily food intake was like a carbaholic party I'm not beating up on you! I'm at a crossroads myself I have moments of thinking AND people telling me I'm at a good weight... I'm finding myself not losing anymore and it makes sense because I've been eating recently like someone who is in maintenance..

There you go, present it to them in a organized thought out way that shows you did your research. And yep start saving that money knowing it's for a good cause

Well call me stupid.. But I think somebody might be mistaken... If this were true wouldn't it mean the stapling device would have the be doing its work from inside the stomach therefore going through the mouth?? I mean unless these were magical staples that twist and turn then through osmosis enter the stomach??

Well that's good, they are probably grasping at straws then because they are scared.. And I would be too if my daughter wanted a surgery.. It's just what parents do Listen I'm 47 and didn't tell my own mom until a week before my surgery I did this for me, no one else and I didn't need the drama. But when I did tell her she was at first pissed but then asked "well can I at least drive you or something because I want to be involved" If they are not willing to at least listen to your research. Then nicely tell them you love them and you are doing this (surgery) and you hope that at some point they can give you the support that you will need.

Is it a bad thing to see a friend get healthy and happy? It would be ok if 80% of your motivation was from seeing a friend that this worked for!! Mexico... Yes I can see how that would freak a mom and dad out.. The best you can do on that is get together a bunch of information about medical tourism and it's safety.. There are some really good doctors that practice there (not all of course, so do lots of research) and they cater to patients from all over the world.

Do you live with them?? If not they really don't have much if a say on what you can and cannot do.. But if you do I can see how that would be difficult. When I first mentioned surgery to my husband he said absolutely not! And he's in the medical field! I asked please just come to a consultation with the surgeon with me.. It really helped, during that consultation he understood what I was going through. Also his fears calmed about the surgery itself after talking to the surgeon and getting his questions answered. Ask them to at least go to an appointment with you or an support group. As far as happiness we need to work on that too and therapy I feel should go hand and hand with surgery
  19. Lol but really I do wish you luck (not that you'll need it) with the band I think it will be a good procedure for you
  20. Girl how are you mashing up all of our quotes and presenting them as others??
  21. Curious when you are eating your bagel are you drinking coffee at the same time? I ask because you put them at the same time. At four months you are still in the prime losing phase. I would look at your diet and make some changes to it with healthy Protein and veggies., Also your schedule is more like all day snacking with no "real" meals.... I know you didn't ask my opinion.. But you know what they say about opinions..
  22. Oh and yes I drink wine occasionally.... Two curious facts about that though! One: I get buzzed damn quick with just a smack of wine! Two: As fast as the buzz comes it goes away and I'm back to very sober and stay that way??
  23. Yes I would search far and wide with your research... As prestigious as Sacramento magazine may be.. I would question your surgeons motivation behind her comments.. Perhaps she enjoys the repeat medical appointments that she will share with her banded clients? Or perhaps it's a competency issue with performing the sleeve surgery? I notice she does revision surgery.. One of the surgery she offers is the bypass which is a great surgery but involves cutting and staples also.
  24. Research is such a good thing yes You know when I first started this journey my first thought was the band (nothing against them) But through independent research I came to the conclusion that the sleeve (evil staples and all ) Was the right procedure for me. Good luck girlie
