Yes it will all get better! 10 days out means you are still very much in the healing stages!! Be kind to yourself and patient and know that it does get better! If you want time frames I would say 4 weeks is when I felt 100% again and at three months I am able to drink my water without sipping little bits at a time

Oh wow so many people go through this. Sorry that your having to deal with it. Curiosity? were you taking any meds that are supposed to reduce the risk of gallbladder problems after surgery.

My husband took a few says off. Not necessarily to take care of me... I think having the kids spend the night the first night is good. I had my mom stay one night to help with the kids so my husband could be with me in the evening at the hospital. But after that we sent her home (she lives 3 hours away) and the next day he took over with the kids. And I really didn't need him in the hospital with me I was busy being in pain and walking reading resting! After I came home I had him go back to work. You really don't need anyone if you prepare and have everything you need in advance. Good luck! Laura

I have an 11 and 16 year old and they both were part of the discussion when my husband and I Finalized my plans to go through with the surgery. They were able to voice their concerns and asked questions it helped because they didn't like the idea at first but after I answered their questions they were on board! With your 11 year old I think definitely ask if he has questions the 4 year old I would not tell very much. Just general info as to why you will be gone.
