At two weeks your stomach is probably still "numb" that's why it is very important to measure your food. Make sure at this point that you are eating no more than 1/4 cup at a time. -

Yes sliders are usually crappy food, chips Cookies, popcorn, bad carbs. So as said above, dense Proteins are the things that you will feel the restriction with and stay full longer. -

Popcorn yummy but a slider! No go for me.. And yes talking to someone and even hashing it out here helps! I talk to a Therapist about it. I think that if you are reading it here now too,it will better prepare you to know these things going in so you can see them clearly and deal with them more effectively -

Oh, the chips thing! I remember when I first started BTB had a thread about things like chips in our sleeve (pictures and everything) Do you remember that thread fiddleman? You can eat a whole lot of those no problem! They go down quite easy as a matter of fact... Feel way better on my sleeve than say a piece of chicken! But I still have to choose not to eat to many. It's funny because eating things like chips and crap got me here! Not a lousy chicken breast! -

I think that's what a lot if people think. That there is no hunger anymore after the sleeve. I am four months out and, well, I get hungry! I mean lets look at "hunger" first off, before we had surgery where we "Hungry" every time we ate? No.. So head hunger is still an issue for a lot of people. It wasn't just to get full, that we ate. It was the taste, texture, enjoyment, etc of eating. So after we are sleeved in the beginning we are really healing and going through trauma the first month. After that you eat very little because your stomach is still really swollen (and some of us are just freaked out). Fast forward to 6 or 7 months you are going to be able to eat a lot more! Have you dealt with you head hunger? Have you revamped your relationship with food? These's are the important things the hard things! I know because I deal with them daily still... You can't go into this and think "well I thought you weren't supposed to be hungry anymore" It doesn't work that way, you will always NEED food. And food will taste good again. The one thing I learned is this sleeve is not going to do the hard mental work for me. And it also won't jump out of my stomach and slap that ice cream cone out of my hand ( damn ) . You/me, we have to work and work hard against what I feel, is really an addiction. Is it a great opportunity, the sleeve? YES Is it a miracle cure? NO Laura -
If your on full liquids? Yes but you must strain it. Not blend

Need encouragement! With Beer

Maybe your beer belly is in a stall? You should try upping your beer consumption from 2 a day to 3 a day! -
Wow that's a hard one! I mean I went to Disneyland 6 weeks after surgery and walked all day for three days and rode all the rides and was fine just really tired at the end of each day... I am 47 years old and had no "complications" from surgery... But who can predict such a thing... A cruise is an opportunity of a life time! They are fun I've gone to the South Pacific on one.. They are relaxing but i also did things like scuba diving. So I would ask what do you have planned? As I said a cruise can be a trip of a lifetime, but surgery is an opportunity of a lifetime!! Personally I would let nothing get in the way of my surgery!

I was making some today and though of you! I saw another poster talked about silken tofu.. That is good for Soups and such but has a real watery consistency you want extra firm for dry frying and such..

Lying about Weight Loss Surgery !

Or they like to see the fight! I saw this one for what it was a mile away! -
I didn't have my first child until I was thirty.. She is now 16. In some ways I'm glad I waited because I was able to live my life until then anyway I chose. I was able to do what I wanted when I wanted with whom I wanted. When I had my children though I changed everything, I wanted to be the kind of mother I never had. My mother had us young and she was out of control to say the least. I do find that having them older is good in that sense.. But I did have moments of "Missing" my freedom. I wanted both of my children and wouldn't change it for anything! Am I looking forward to getting past the raising them stage to go out and do things with my husband alone again? Well I have a 16 year old girl, so many days yes! It's a personal thing, having children. I think there is no right or wrong answer as long as you do what's right for YOU. It will work out.

Sannah Great news! it's so good to hear that the meds were able help with the spasms. And your losing weight?? Got to love it, at the end of the day that's what brought us all here. It sounds like you are on your way to better health, and when you go to the urologist on Thursday I hope to hear not hopeful news! Kisses to you and Venla, Laura

15 Days out and I've only lost 10lbs.
No game replied to AZLatina's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Ok I was joking on my first response.... But don't freak out you are doing perfect just stick to the plan and it will work. You cannot expect to drop pounds every day or every week! We had surgery not a miracle! Give your body time to rest and readjust in between losses.
