    Vegetarians unite

I think a couple of pages back I put how I "dry fry" tofu.. I will dig around and see if I can find it. Oh it was on another thread.. To dry fry, I cut up my tofu and slow fry it with no oil or butter on a non stick griddle or you can use a cast iron pan. I fry it on a lower heat to get the moisture out and crisp it up. Tofu isn't really high in carbs, I buy mine at trader joes... Also after you dry fry it you can do different things with it...like marinade in anything (it is tasteless so will soak up any flavor) and stir fry with veggies I like it marinaded sometimes but I will also eat it just straight from the fridge cold after dry frying it smohhhkin.bmp
  2. Wow... All if this just because 1 poor woman said that she did not have a good experience with her stay and treatment while in Mexico? Makes me wonder...

My wagon got a flat tire..

[quote name="Lisa ]Laura...Sorry I wasn't here to support you yesterday when you posted this' date=' but I was busy dealing with my own wagon issue!!! I actually rammed into a support column and did several thousands in damage to my wagon!! Well, the adjuster has provided the estimate and the repairs to the wagon are in process. I'll be back on my wagon in no time and it'll be good as new!!!! Traveling in a damaged wagon has been proven dangerous and you put your health and safety at risk!! Make the repairs ASAP!! Safe Travels..... [/quote'] Ha! Must be something in the air this week! I'm making repairs as "we speak" I read a post this morning by "vsgKirk" Talking about "mental stalls" I think that's what happened. My wagons engine had a little stall and threw everything out of whack. It helps so much to know I've got all these great people here, listening, helping, caring. Thank you.
  5. Nate this right here tells me how mature and thoughtful you are at 15 or any age for that matter! I know you will do well

    Dizzy

If you feel you are not drinking enough measure and record your liquid amounts to make sure. A lot of people end up back in the hospital for dehydration alone!

  8. Hi Nate I can't tell you what to do... But I will say each one of us had moments of thinking the same thing! I can tell you I can lose weight without surgery, I've done it many times in my adult life. But I still needed to do this because after the diet I would go right back to where I was within a few months. This is a major ( and sometimes not easy) change. But I am glad to be doing it and it is worth the small sacrifices I have to make. I will support you no matter what your decision is.
  9. OMG Kirk! Yes, mental stall! I think I've been trying to articulate this for the past week or two in my posts about me, but just didn't have the words... It's like you are me! (With a beard and I'm a bit cuter) Lots of thinking this week for me too. I even wrote a post about falling off the wagon but it was more about the mental state I'm in.
  10. Congratulations Dean! Friend and mentor to all! From this months newsletter; MEMBER SPOTLIGHT- MEET DEAN We’re delighted to introduce you to *Dean* for this month’s member spotlight! He’s a Police Negotiator and a detective in child abuse who works in an Australian police department in Child Abuse. This 43-year-old has been married for 16 years, and he has twin 8-year-old daughters. Dean had a lifetime of yo-yo dieting. In his early 30's, he dedicated a year to weight loss, and lost about 150 pounds through diet and exercise with a personal trainer. As he changed from a 9 to 5 office job to shift work, got busier with family and grew older, Dean had even more trouble controlling his weight. Over 10 years, he gained back 110 pounds and continually struggled. Over a year ago, he started to look into weight loss surgery over a year ago, and got the sleeve in November of 2012. He’s already down 88 pounds from his high of 302 pounds, and has only 34 pounds left to hit his goal weight of 180 pounds. Since surgery, Dean is happier, more confident, more energetic and less hungry. Before surgery, he says he was preoccupied with food. Becoming free from the hold that food had over him lets him enjoy people and events instead of focusing on what and how much he could eat. He also learned that he was an emotional eater before surgery, even though he didn’t realize it before. Dean is learning not to give in to “head hunger,” and to instead drink some Water, exercise or talk to someone instead of eating. Dean has met some of his Australian VerticalSleeveTalk.com friends in person and would one day like to meet his American friends. He tries to answer other members’ questions, both to help them out and to keep himself on track! To help you succeed, Dean suggests planning your food. He also says that he’s getting better at listening to his body to match his foods to his body’s needs. Dean, congratulations on your weight loss so far! Thanks for sharing your story and tips with us in the Member Spotlight!

    Everything is yuck!

My word! It sounds like you are having a rough day! I think we all had days where it seemed overwhelming and wanted to go back our "normal" ways. But our normal ways where very unhealthy and killing us... As far as throwing up? Are you measuring your food? Eating nice and slow? I never threw up but did have periods of nausea the first two months. And if you think you might not drinking enough, You're probably not. Yes drinking is like a full time job, but a very important one. Good luck and hang in there you are doing great.
  12. Sorry that you are in pain the best and only way to deal with the gas pain is walking (a lot) Make sure you are walking at least 10 to 15 minutes every hour. Good luck to you.

Save that bullet we might need it later! Besides I heard if you eat ice cream you can bust that stall wide open!
