13+ Months Out, Still Struggling
No game replied to isntsheclever's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I hope that you continue to reach out here, there is power in numbers I believe.. I have gotten into the habit of checking in with a few friends here daily. But I also found that opening up fully to my husband helps a lot. We are very close but I never really let him into my true feelings with food, you see I am a "uncover eater" I eat when I'm alone. It's been been nothing but a positive experience telling him. I am able to check in with him daily and have honest conversations about my struggle at any given point and what put me I'm that place and how I chose to deal with it. -
Thank you so it is basically a "plication" but with no incisions. No incisions sound pretty cool. But I would read here and on plication/ pose forums.
-
So I'm dumb as a stick here,, is this plication then? Or a whole new surgery? If its plication my first response would be no thank you, just from reading here in the last couple of day that have plication and are trying to convert to the sleeve.

Hi I'm only six months out but I know you are not alone. There are plenty of people here that still struggle with food addiction issues (me included) I'm glad that you came back! There are several threads where we have very active conversations about this subject, also there is a veteran forum that has people further out like you. Laura -
Sorry what's pose?

6 weeks out and stomach doesn't tolerate solids well...
No game replied to magpie30's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I noticed that when I'm stressed or even nervous I'm not able to eat much at all without it being uncomfortable it's like my stomach just clenches up. So if you are having weeks of stress, I can see it. But I think if it continues it would be a good thing to bring up with the doctor just to make sure it's not a stricture or anything like that. -
surgery friday new big fear

Hey rollar, I'm 5 months out, yes I feel a lot better! I was taking high blood pressure meds for the last year and I felt like at 46 I was close to having a heart attack! So being off of the meds alone is worth it! I eat better I guess, I ate for the most part healthy before though.. I'm a stay at home mom and cook for my family nightly they are healthy meals ( kids with sad faces but healthy can attest to that) I just ate a lot of food. Exercise is my biggest problem! I'm a lazy lady and I need to do more! -
Lots of people tell me chipotle is really good. there is one in the next town over from me I might try that!

Right now I'm stuck at 58 pounds lost, I asked my husband "what if this is it? What if I don't lose anymore?" "All this time and money was it worth it if I only lost 60 pounds" We thought for a minute then both of us agreed Yes it's worth it I know that its slow for me and sometimes it's not going anywhere but I'm sure that I will eventually lose more until then I will be happy with my 58 pounds -
Fast food is a hard one... I mean even if something seems like it might be healthy, it still so processed it doesn't even taste like real food. Its more likely some weird food stuff molded into a shape with salt up the wazoo! Now don't get me wrong my weakness is is salty French fries YUM On this board we love to go after the person who ate a fast food burger... But really if you think about it, its no worse than the other stuff there. I have had fast food once since surgery. I went to carls junior and ordered a "low carb burger" It's a burger without the bun, messy but good. Oh and it lasted several meals, that sucker was big! Side note it was a treat it tasted good but my stomach was not used to it I think and I got a good clean out, so know I know what to do next time I'm constipated

Rice is hard for a lot of sleevers but after a while maybe.. If I were doing that I would put ground turkey in it instead of the rice. -
Lol.. you mean Charlie (horse) up there??? Yeah he's just resting, he ate to much.. He's in one of those food comas
-
Who would of ever thought that we would look at a protein bar as a treat! Hehehe.. Glad it went well My weight has been at a major stand still this last couple of weeks but my eating is not feeling as desperate as it was a week ago, it's funny how some days or weeks are easier than others.

Some think the pre op diet is the hardest part, I say Hell no!! in the days following surgery I would if done anything to go back to the pre op diet! This is a difficult stage not only are you fighting head hunger and real hunger, you are hurting and I don't know about you but I always used food to "comfort" myself and that was taken away from me cold turkey (no pun intended) Realize it will get better and this is just temporary Give your body time to heal and be kind to yourself in the days to come.

Force protein or just get liquid in?
No game replied to Mrs.Ally's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
At six days out liquid is most important so you don't end up in the hospital for dehydration. Protein is something you will build up to in the weeks to come. -
Well I finally give up¡!

You know girls this kinda thread comes up every week someone is fresh out of surgery (1 week) And starving so they poke around here until they find somebody doing something different or someone tells them that they are eating solid food because their doctor said ok to it. We are food addicts looking for a fix, looking for an enabler.
