    Sushi 8 weeks out

When I was cleared for all foods yes! I eat sushi regularly but when I go I eat just the sashimi not the sushi rolls because the rice can be problematic... Salmon sashimi is the best in my opinion
  2. Looking good!! And so true we shouldn't compare, we are all on our own path to health and happiness

  4. And I jumped off, I am desperately trying to fix it. But I am consumed with thoughts of, well if one tire is weak then perhaps they are all destined to fail. Is it just fear of failure or is there a much more sinister thing going on? Like trying to give up so I can give in? I'm writing this as I sit in the drivers seat again. Albeit a much bumpier ride at the moment. Wrong place I see now. But I didn't need answers anyway

    Just needed to vent....

Book description..... If you have struggled with compulsive eating, dieting, and the guilt and conflict they bring, your life will be changed by this important, life-affirming, and astonishingly wise book. Anne Katherine, a Certified Eating Disorders Therapist and former compulsive eater, explains the chemical reactions in the brain that work in conjunction with lifelong emotional conflicts to make food—particularly sugar and refined carbohydrates—such a comfort that it's almost like a drug. Once you realize that your binge eating is a physical disease that can be treated, you can use the book's self-tests, exercises, examination of family issues, and complete recovery program for newfound understanding and confidence.

Having a friend to talk to is a great idea! I often come here when I'm having a hard moment with wanting to sneak chocolate (I say sneak because I hide my binge behaviors) you can also go to support groups in you area many are free or low cost. I also read a book called "Anatomy of a Food Addiction: The Brain Chemistry of Overeating" Which was really helpful for me..

    Best peanut butter?

It's at all the ones I've been too. I don't know if there are other nuts??? I know there are several options.. But I never really noticed all of them. Oh and fiddle when you grind at whole foods you get a small container and can leave it out for awhile, we do anyway..

I feel I should say, that does not mean you are NOT a good candidate for the surgery! It just means that additional mental work needs to happen hand in hand with the surgery:) I say this as a sleever of almost 6 months and as a person dealing with food addiction.

    Best peanut butter?

Well before surgery I always ate Adams natural Peanut Butter.. No sugar and the have no salt added too. I liked it you have to stir it when you first buy it but after that I kept it in the refrigerator. Also at whole foods you can grind your own yummy Oh when you go to whole foods avoid the honey roasted peanuts (my husbands favorite) just grind the regular nuts!

Eating or binging... These are behaviors that you need to start working on now.. This surgery is a tool to help aid you in weight loss but not a CURE. food addiction is still something that needs to be addressed.
