this makes me very sad... It sounds like you settled for less than you wanted out of a relationship because you thought you didn't deserve better because of your looks... If you are with a man who treats you like that, he will treat you like that whether you are fat or skinny. My husband treats me the same whether I'm skinny or fat, people told me sometimes what a good husband I had because he didn't care about the weight gain and loved me the same? I would think what the hell? so he's a saint for staying with me? No he is a man who loves his wife and I love him and we made a commitment for life. To be side by side through all of our changes. Me being fat or him losing hair has no bearing on the core relationship. Please know that you need to stop selling yourself short and you are much more than just your outward appearance.

Jay it sounds like you got a lot if good input here... I hope you and she can get the chance to really sit and talk about all her (and your) fears in regards to you upcoming surgery.. I understand about insurance company's and bmi rules and I think it's not always fair. Have you asked her if this surgery is something that she really wants too? (I'm assuming that she's over a 35 bmi or so) I wonder if going to Mexico would be something she would consider? I had my surgery here in the states because my bmi was high enough for insurance. But a lot of people here choose Mexico for cost savings and experienced Drs. As you can see I keep putting thought into this.. AndI keep thinking about how I would feel if my husband and I were both obese but only he could have it done... I think I would be happy for him but really upset that I didn't have the same options.. Now I'm just thinking out loud and assuming that she really wants this too.

Trust me buy fage Greek yogurt plain and add Splenda of sf syrups and it will be yummy and filling oh and it has protein! You have pretty hair do you want to keep it?? EAT YOUR PROTIEN Hehehehe...

I'm not sure about the band to sleeve revision hopefully one of our band to sleeve people will chime in, but I wanted to say I have never thrown up with the sleeve! I see a lot of people that do but there are a lot of us that don't, I can eat pretty good these days but I'm still losing weight.

You might want to ask if you can get referred to a gastroenterologist.. It might be a stricture (scar tissue build up in the esophagus) they would just scope you to see and then possible fix it right there by dilating the esophagus.. Just a thought..

You know I bet she buried her head in the sand.. I'm doing more thinking about you saying that she was jealous that you can do it and not her.. So I'm going to assume she is obese too? It may just be hitting her as reality now, she may have thought somewhere along the line that it wouldn't pan out, and now that she is faced with the reality of you actually getting approved she is having to look at how she feels about her weight too. I'm not saying that she is right in the way she's treating you, because she is not! But I think she doesn't want to be left behind in the weight loss?

Wow, I'm sorry to hear that. It sounds like she might be a bit scared about the future? I would wait until she calms down then invite her to sit down an talk about it including any questions she might have about the surgery.. As far as the divorce rate? I say please, I mean I think it might be due to people with low self esteem staying in marriages that are not good. Then when they lose the weight they leave. In other words those relationships had troubles before! My husband was my best friend and partner before the surgery and he is my best friend and partner still. Nothing especially weight loss or gain will change that. Is there a way you guys can have the surgery close to each others dates? Why does she feel she can't have it?

Every Dr. Is different you should ask.. But I know for a lot of people say no fruits this early out and most say no berries because if the seeds and the suture line in the stomach is not healed yet. But your Dr. Might have different thoughts on that.

Yeah, most of us can have yogurt when we move to full liquid stage. And yes they (nuts and such) say plain yogurt, no fruits this early out. Plain Greek yogurt to me tastes just like sour cream (which I like) but I add some Splenda to it. A lot of people put the sf Torino syrups in it.. Greek yogurt is really good but thick definitely wait until you are at that stage and only take a little in. Even at 6 months out it fill me up quick!

But really try a brothy soup from a take out place and strain the bits out it does help

I did! Hey when it came time to purée meat I did it with joy! You can do it two more days will fly by.

Have you tried going to a Chinese restaurant and getting something like egg drop soup? You can ask for mostly broth then when you get home strain it... It's more satisfying than canned type broths.

Are you on clear liquids or full liquids yet?

My husband, in no way wanted me to have this surgery! But I asked him please just come to the consultation with the surgeon with me. After we left the surgeons office he knew everything he needed to know (including my true weight) he was able to have all his questions answered and has been my biggest supporter since I'm glad he's coming tonight and good luck to you!

Ok I'm going to highjack the thread now!! OMG today is my daughters birthday (17) and she wants to join the army and is trying to get me to sign off in her doing it! Now that's a dilemma! That and I ordered the best cake for her and I have to stare at it

Jane, You have had a lot happen in just a few weeks! I can understand the pull of food especially when under stress.. It's my biggest challenge. But on the bright side? 2 pounds, very manageable with tiny changes it sounds like you are at a very normal place as a normal weight person. That is something to be very happy about.

Aussie is going through a very rough time.. While it definitely doe not excuse her behavior.. It might explain her mindset at the moment. Aussielady, I'm very concerned about you and so are many others here. Please consider getting the help that is available to you. Laura
