  3. Sounds like your doctor might think you have a stricture? Very easily fixed... STRICTURES (VSG gastroduodenal anastomosis) Symptoms: persistent nausea /vomiting, inabilty or gradual inability to keep anything down including liquids. Post-VSGrs w/ strictures also report: liquids backing up in their esophagus, foamies, heaving, fatigue. Causes: When a surgeon inadvertantly narrows the entrance from stomach to pyloric canal because of misalignment of bougie, "misfiring" of stapler, staples your stomach to small intestine (duodenum) Scar tissue begins to adhere to staples within 72 hours post op. Scar tissue/adhesions tighten the opening to the pyloric canal/sphincter further. Akin to a clogged drain..over time forcing food/drink to 'back up'. Occurrence: usually from 3-6 weeks post-op, but have read of cases 2-6 months out due to scar tissue build up gradually narrowing the already narrowed opening to the pyloric canal (**see below). Diagnosis: upper GI, abdominal CT scan , and/or Xray. Treatment: hospitalization, cleared with endoscopic balloon dilation providing mild stretching at site, dilation treatments may need to be repeated before resolution.

    popcorn.

Could it be possible the the surgeon did not get all of the fundus the first time?? If the fundus is not COMPLETELY removed it can stretch...
  6. Yes look into a different surgeon! My surgeon had his own insurance coordinator working for me to get the pre approval she was a shark and knew the ins and outs of all insurances. She got the job done I had nothing to do with it.. After all they want you to get this surgery so they can get the money!
  7. Ok....ummm.... I have the same insurance and was "pre approved" too when I had my surgery, Have you thought of a different bariatric doctor?
  8. I'm so sorry to hear this! I don't get it what does the clinic want? Have you talked to your insurance company to find out when they might "fully" approve it?
  9. Good point !! Good night girls

    Denied!

Ok if you've been fat that long your PCP must have records of your weight when you go in for care... So get those and send them.. Next get clarification as to if you are supposed to do 3 or 6 months of a supervised diet
  11. OMG I just saw your post in December sleevers! That's it! I've become complacent!! Follow through! My biggest obstacle, myself.
  12. Wow that's a loaded question.. I think physically she can handle college life after the sleeve.. The real question is the emotional part.. This is not an easy emotional journey, is she prepared to live a slightly different lifestyle than some of her peers? You know like eating drinking in social situations. Sometimes I see younger people wanting to go out and "party" it might not be possible with the sleeve (not necessarily a bad thing). How bad does she want it? And is she willing to make small sacrifices for it?

    growling

Haha! I remember the first couple of weeks! Have you ever seen a morbidly obese woman a few days out of surgery who could barely walk, at a department store and suddenly needs a restroom but can't move very fast??? Shuffle, squeeze, shuffle, squeeze !!
  14. I guess what I was originally trying to say, it's going to happen the way it's going to happen. If you do the right things and trust the process it will happen. It may not happen as fast as you want it.. But it will happen. I don't know if expecting gigantic numbers so fast is a great thing because if it doesn't happen (that quickly) Are you going to be setting yourself up for feelings of disappointment or the sense of failure. Yes opinions are like .... And we all have one. I'm sure you will do fine and I'm sure that you can lose all the weight you want it just might take a little while.. Good luck to you.
  15. For the most part you will feel a little discomfort starting but in the beginning it's just a good rule of thumb to measure 1/4 cup and not eat over that.

    Im ticked- husband losing faster

Amy! Wow you are having a bad day! I get it my husband isn't overweight but he eats copious amounts of food or he LOSES weight! I mean this guy eats like a pig and I don't even want to tell you how much he weighs, but I will say I still weigh more than him and I'm 171 now! SOME men just drop weight easy.. But like you just said he's not doing it in a healthy way. Girl I know it's going slower than you want but it's happening you ARE DOING IT!
