  1. I like the "not really" part why did you edit it I mean what do I know, I live in Northern California where it's perfect all the time Yeah, I mean however you can get at least 64oz..
  2. At that stage getting your 64oz is like a full time job. You just keep a bottle in your hand all day and drink.. I had a bottle of water (still do) everywhere I went.
  3. I went to Disney 6 weeks afterwards and rode everything no problems
  4. Hey I'm going to Colorado!! (did I say that already?) oh I forgot about the altitude...

    The 5:2 diet

The first day hit me by surprise too, on just how hard it was. It seems like when you know you can't have something you want it all the more. I went to bed with actual hunger like real hunger last Thursday though. So I'm still figuring out what's good, not good for the last meal of the day.. Oh and way to kill a thread on that other one! I think you may have scared a few people

    Explain head-hunger?

Even though this surgery is far from a "miracle cure" it is, I think our best chance at being able lose and maintain the weight loss. I wish you luck on your pre op diet, and getting all of your clearances!

  15. Geeze I never even thought about not having a scale! That is going to be hard! You are right though we should enjoy our vacations. It's funny I just got the same advice from the owner of the fish store I go to to buy salt Water. I was stressing out because I have to leave my coral tanks for a week. With someone coming only twice to feed. And so many things can go wrong But the wise old man told me always go on vacation and prepare yourself by saying everything could possibly go haywire while Your gone. But don't let it ruin your fun. You can always start over when you get home... So here's to some fun hopefully not to much weight gain and fish and coral that may or may not be here when I get back. But if something happens we can start again right?
  16. I'm moving I'm moving! Ok I just took a break to eat some cheese and answer a few things. Now I have to clean fish tanks I haven't run yet today it might have to wait until tonight... But I went shopping today and RAN up an escalator Looked funny felt good
  17. Oh coops I'm leaving for vacation tomorrow! And I'm a bit concerned at how I'm going to handle the fast days also.. I want to do them still because I really feel it is helping but I worry about being taken out of my routine for everything! I do not eat out often so looking at a week plus of eating out is daunting... I'm actually sad that I won't be able to get my morning meal of Greek yogurt too... Oh and I think we rock too! And I know the bouncing of the scale is frustrating a bit but at least it's moving now and in a mostly downward fashion! I weigh a pound more that I did yesterday but the trend is still lower than I started with

    Explain head-hunger?

I also must say that if a doctor tells a patient that hunger will be taken away totally I would question him or her about this statement. The stomach produces roughly 70% of your ghrelin hormone after time other producers of that hormone will kick up their production a bit.. That being said though..I think to expect to never to be hungry again is a bit off... Your body needs fuel! it will get true hunger when it needs to be fed. It may signal you in different ways afterwards like getting weak or dizzy. Or you may retain feelings of hunger as you know it now. I say that because not everyone loses hunger or as I see around here they lose it for a while (6 to 8 months) but it does naturally come back a bit. I am further out and I can say at about the 6 month mark I felt hungry more along with the ability to eat more at a sitting. Oh and to the question about how do we control head hunger? Just like the head hunger is in your head, the ability to control it is in there too. That is part of the work that we have to put into this surgery too. Working on our love, need, want for food.

    The 5:2 diet

Great butter! I'm glad you joined us As to the TDEE question.. I can't answer for the other ladies, but my TDEE is 1576 So as you know, I can't quiet eat that high on a normal day unless I fill it with crap... On my resting or fast days I still keep it at 500 sometimes a bit less. And it's working out just fine for me, I think an equally important part of the 5:2 is the long resting periods between the meals on those days starting the night before keeping it at 12+ hours and the "water loading" that you and I talked a bit about too.

    Explain head-hunger?

It's a craving. And a craving may feel like real hunger but its just you wanting something. Usually something in particular. Think about how most of us ate (pre surgery) can you say that that we ate mostly out of pure "real" hunger? I find it interesting that some will say "why yes I eat out of only hunger" but the thing is head hunger feels like real hunger and is sometimes a surprise hurdle to deal with after surgery because it remains and can be a strong desire.
  21. I think another thing to think about is the extra weight added just adds to the overall total that needs to be lost. In the months leading up to scheduling the surgery I gained 7 pounds.. It was just another 7 I had to take off!
