The goal weight number
No game replied to Fiddleman's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You know I've actually thought about that several times recently... And I have to say I'm good with that number so it must of made sense somewhere in this screwy mind of mine. Full steam ahead -
Oh yes "cheese it's" were a vacation F up! No more vacations for me! I find it interesting you still get the "slimes" Andy, I've never had that problem. I eat raw cabbage and carrots shreds every week with my chicken that I boil as a quick and filling meal.. No problems. I don't eat much red meat. But the burger patty I had in vacation was fine. And I also had a bite of prime rib no problems. I really don't think anything would give me issues unless I forced to much in..

The goal weight number

From a post I made yesterday.... You know I never really discussed a "goal weight" with my surgeon. And if he did. It probably sounded like the teacher in "Charlie brown" Wha wha wha... Approved wha wha wha...surgery date I picked a number (in the healthy BMI range) not really putting my full belief into it really being possible -
Anyone from California ....

San Francisco Bay Area here! Welcome and good luck to you -
Lol.. Side note I think I eat a lot. But as I'm sitting here my husband downed a plate of French toast and syrup. As he gets up right now I asked him where he was going he tells me I'm going to go have some breakfast! Then tells me "don't judge me"

Oh no it's expensive liquor and cheap chocolate!! Don't get it twisted! I'd say between my 6th and 7th month the amount and the hunger urges "up" themselves (Pretty typical) and no it not because I didn't use my sleeve correctly and stretched it! I can eat what seems like limitless amounts of crap food. Cheese it's, sweets, chips, I still have restriction on dense proteins but I can definitely eat more! I can easily eat a burger patty and a few fries. As I did over the vacation. I also ate two slices of wood fired (pizza sans crust). I get full but I am able to eat again soon after so it's about trying to have more control. The old loops of snacking start to play again. I think like any "diet" after a while you are not wound as tight with the rules and restrictions, because your totally healed and nothing is "off limits anymore" I was extra cautious and never experimented with things that could of been hard on my sleeve like breads, pasta, rice. But I know I can eat those things with no issues this far out. It's literally like having a kid in a candy store! I still measure my protein and foods when having a meal because if I didn't I would eat more. So yesterday when eating Turkey lunch meat I measured 3oz and 1 tablespoon of hummus but I could of eaten a lot more of that snack.

Your right about that! I find that the only easy thing about food.. ...Is eating it 4th day home from vacation and still trying to detox!

Coops, I know how you feel, I had a complete emotional breakdown 2 days after coming home from vacation. I don't know if it was withdraws from the foods I had been eating or exhaustion. Or the fact that food eating.. not eating.. wanting to eat.... Plays such a MAJOR role in our lives still.. I know you and I have shy bowels on vacation.. Perhaps that's why your stomach is so swollen? I can say I pushed my Water intake a lot when I got home to flush everything out. I got a 32oz bottle and drained it 31/2 times daily. So never underestimate the power of water. Hang in there, I'm sure it will even out in a few days!

OMG!!! You look awesome. See now you got me crying (in a good way) I'm so happy for you and the great progress you made -

Hehehe. Though you were asking if we can float in a swimming pool!! I was going to say, "ummm... Yes we can float we're fat" That's a tough one because I'm not sure you can really manage it with out getting it wet and it's definitely to soon for soaking in a pool...

I think those crazy threads did not help! I need to learn how to extricate myself from these "gone of the rail" crazy threads... I think coming down from a very whirlwind type vacation, and eating to many trigger foods really set my addictive tendencies off. I really had a hard time getting back into the swing of things. Big fat Laura is always going to be underneath scratching to get out I think! Oh and I think I'm going to buy stock in those Quest bars! Everyday they hook another person!

Look at you Amy you've passed me up! And you were stressing about your slow weight loss! You will be at goal and running a marathon I sometimes see glimpses of someone different. this close to goal and I still can't fully grasp it as a smaller healthier Laura. Perhaps when I hit 15 pounds till goal? -
The fact if the matter is that your stomach "relaxes" over time... It's not because you did not "use it properly" all you have to do is go to the vets forum and do some reading there to confirm this happens to everyone. And as far as ghrelin? Your stomach is not the only producer of this hormone and over time the production of it will be up a bit again. These things usually come into play around the 6+ month mark for most. Will it go back to the way it was before? No. But you will experience differences in your sleeves ability to hold more food and feeling hunger. The surgery is not a cure, but it is a helpful tool to assist you in getting to a healthy goal weight.

I'm glad to come here today and read these replies! Yes we all have daily struggles with this And coming here to vent seek support or ask advice is always helpful to get me through the day! I have been in therapy for years about this and have read many books on the reasons behind my addictions (great suggestions by the way misty) Even with all the learning, growing and retraining I'm doing I still fall occasionally. And I hit the ground pretty hard.. Yesterday was one of those days. The funny thing is I had even lost weight which is like a miracle around here for me. But that doesn't stop the thoughts sometimes. It's the constant obsessive thoughts that can ruin the day. I'm hoping for a much better time of it today.
