  1. Op, Do you think your nana cares about and loves you? Or do you think she says these things out of contempt for you? I had a Vovô (grandfather) he was from the old country and could not communicate without yelling it seemed or pissing someone off. Even in his last years he was hell on wheels! I can't tell you how many times he disowned me because he couldn't control me. He said really stupid hurtful things. When I was younger sometimes they hurt pretty bad. But as I got older I just laughed every time he said something wrong or hurtful. Which by the way made him more pissed! But I have to say, I loved that old bastard something fierce. I knew in my heart he loved me too. He was raised in a family and a time much different than I.. His lack of education and ability to express feelings shaped him. And I saw his frustration on a daily basis trying to communicate. I made boundaries yes, and if he crossed those and became abusive verbally I would walk away or end the phone call and tell him why. So not perfect but it worked because he was my Vovô. I understood his limitations and chose to love him anyway, and accept his "imperfect" love back.

How was your 5:2 day today?

Swizzly happy early Bday I've had a food fest weekend and I'm up 2 pounds.. I saw the 150's briefly, but the scale is telling me 160 again I was definitely stress eating school started today and I've been doing the mother worry thing about my sons first day back, so I ate my worries away (not) topped off by a glass of wine because I couldn't sleep last night. You name a rule yesterday and I broke it
  3. Ouch! I can't imagine the pain of having your poor stomach operated on again!! And the old incisions being opened up? Double ouch! I can just imagine those nurses freaking out on how small you are getting the bypass! Take care
  4. Well now that that's solved... Have a great time and enjoy your time with your nana!!

    Wondering......

    Wrong thread...
  8. I understand wanting to live a "normal" life and not wanting to sit watching others eat, but there is something to be said about doing right by your stomach and surgery. Don't eat to look normal if can cause a potential harm to your stomach. I'm glad your showing the menu to the nut. Also you can tell the waitperson that you are on a modified diet at the moment because of a recent surgery, then ask them to put a quick blend (puree) on your chosen food. Very easy to do.
  9. Wow! Was it puréed or are you cleared for real food? At 9 days out I was still on full liquids... Your stomach is still healing and is numb so you may not "feel" anything. When I started puréed food at the 3 week mark it was only 1/4 cup at a meal measured out as to not put an undo stress on the stomach.

    Off track

I'm sorry that I quoted you before then... I guess I got you confused with someone else, this person is a month out? And eating personal pizzas and McDonalds and such. That is scary stuff! And at a month spells trouble for the months to come! Once again sorry

    PINKBERRY AND FRO-YO

Well I'm sure you can eat it... But is it a comparable replacement for the shakes? No. If your on full liquids try some Fage plain Greek yogurt with some Splenda and vanilla extract.
  12. Ok! ok! break it up you rainbow tongued girls! Some of us are sucking down a protein shake tonight....
  13. It sounds like you may benefit from not only getting support here, but perhaps some counseling or even a support group in your area might be helpful too? You are pretty early out and few beers in one night is not really good but I'm sure you know that.
