  6. Well after having a successful day doing all my Pre op appointments. I was dreading the feeling that I might have to cancel due to Not feeling great. I woke up yesterday morning after having a night out at my house mate. We went to a fav. Restraint for a Last minute midnight meal. (Their Cake is to die for.... ) anyway I woke up the next morning and decided. Im never up this early. Hence I hadnt started my new meds. That must be taken in the morning. I decided lets give them ago. Bad Choice!!! I spent the better half of my day seeing doctors and dreading the fact that if the acid in my stomach didnt go away I would have to call off my op on monday. (I dont normally have acid reflux it was a reaction to the new tablet.) Lucky My last doctor of the day was my GP and I gave in and said what do i do .... She sent me straight to the chemist. Ant Acid and a plain diet for 24 hrs and im starting to slowly feel better. I hope.. Anyway end of story I almost thought they would call off the op Lets Hope feeling better means Im still feeling good on monday
  7. For those that don't know I am due to have my sleeve done on monday. I Have been struggling with Pre-op Opticrap and have been feeling pretty crap because my weight loss had stalled. Today I jumped on the scales thinking ill still be ERR and I wont have shown a significant weight lose... But offically I have broke the ERR reading on the scales I can now offically say I weight 150.7kgs on my home scales... I havent been able to weigh myself for a long time at home. So I was excited to see a number this morning. So im guessing at my preop appointment tomorrow my doctor will be happy and on monday I will have my sleeve done.

    It Just Hit Me..

Hey Poohsoup, Im scheduled for my op on Monday too. Its freaking me out to... My partner ready your post and said wow sarah someone who is just as freaked out as you, I have my Pre op appointments on Friday. I really hope my doc wont say sorry you haven't lost enough...
  10. I had my band put in about 2 yrs ago and yes it went well for a while and yes i thought it was the best thing ever. I lots about 30kgs to start with cloths were starting to fit I started to feel good my knee even started to heal. Then my doctor decided that my ever so complicated port was getting harder and harder to access. Shes sent me back to the surgeon and off i went on the down ward spiral to me having the band out and deciding to have the sleeve done. (for those that have bands my port had lost is clips the frist times stiches the second and flipped over after that first op I the tollarating food just got worse) I was always having issues with tolerating food. Alot of food I just couldnt eat, alot of food was wasted as i spent a lot of time in the bathroom throwing up. day in day out Breakfast lunch or dinner. it didnt matter. finally after putting the 30 kgs back on and dealing with the day to day issues of putting 30kgs on I was back at 150kgs and was feeling worse then before the band was put in. My surgeon tested to see if the band had slipped and the swollow came back fine. there was no reason for me not to be losing weight. He sent me away and told me try sticking to strict diet. But even with the healthy food I was still spending a good part of my day in the bathroom with my head in the toilet. It got to the point where my friends were asking me if i was belimic(at 150kgs) I dont think so. thats was about 15weeks ago. I booked in to see my doctor and said enough is enough its time to take it out before i got nuts dealing with this thing. I asked him what are my options. I thought Bi pass sounded better the other option was sleeving. So as he does he sent me away with the information and said when you decided what you want to do ill book you in to have the band out. Today Im 17 days to my op day to have the sleeve done. I got the band out and about 8 weeks ago and i had to wait 10 weeks before he would do the sleeve. so now im counting down to sleeve day NERVOUS AS HELL HOPING I HAVENT MADE THE WRONG CHOICE. What could be we worse the throwing up every day I guess. Anyway now i wait to have it. Its good to see that i wasnt the only one the band hasnt worked for though. It was pitched as the best thing for weightloss and now im having a surgery that isnt reversable. I would like to know from those that have had the band out and the sleeve done. does it feel different. My doctor tells me its a different feeling all together that yes similar eatting rules apply but its not that back up feeling you get with the band. anyway Im hoping everything goes well with my op and everyone else due to have theres. I would love to hear from anyone in the same poistion Sarah
  11. Every patient should be weighed the day of any surgery.. So the anesthesiologist wont give you to much or to little anesthetic. The day I went in to have my band out they couldn't weigh me cause there scales didn't go over 150kg (331lbs) So they went by my most resent weigh in 153kgs. If they don't weigh you I would ask to be weighed. Even if its only for a personal record of the day.
  12. Hi From the very little I know about metabolism and muscle growth. I would say your trainer is right. Protein after your work helps muscles repair and grow(strengthen..) But I'm new to all this so let see what other people say. Sarah
