September Was Your Progress?
mgsmith replied to jentheyo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am almost 8 months post op, surg 9/12/12 and I am down 127 lbs, but this includes my pre op diet also. I am very satisfied with my progress and I am also at a stall right now. I haven't lost must in the last month, I actually have gained a pound or two over the weeks. But I know why, I have become a little too comfortable with my eating. I eat 100 whole wheat bread, just one slice 50 cal and 8 carbs and I have started craving sweets. I try to fix low carbs treats for those moments but I just need to go back to the basics. I do go to the gym at least 3 days a week, I just love planet fitness!!! Hopefully I will back and track soon, good luck and continued success to to my fellow September sleevers!!! -
How many of you have lost hair?
mgsmith replied to GirlOnFire's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 7 months post op and YES my hair starting falling out, not in clumps or anything, but if I ran my fingers through my hair I would have a lot in my hands. When I brushed my hair more would come out. My fair was pretty long and thick, so I had I cut it real short and now my hair is healthy again. It doesn't shed anyone and its not as thin looking. Might want to think about cutting it a little. Good luck. -
I know the feeling. I had pretty long hair but I had to get it cut to a short bob because of the breakage and now I absolutely live it!!!

At first I didn't tell anyone but my boss also. When I told her she volunteered that she had the gastric bypass a few years ago. I had only told a few people before surgery but when I returned to work I pretty much told whoever asked because I didn't want to hide in a corner at lunch time. All of my co workers were very supportive and still is. Having that support at work keeps me on my toes. They make sure I don't fall back and eat those sweet and sugary doughnuts!!! Glad they know, good luck!!

Feelings on Eating Fast Food (McDonald's) 7 weeks Post Op
mgsmith replied to ljmasterdebater's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don't know how far you are but I am 4 months and I have had both. For the grilled wrap I took small bites and chewed very well. The salad wasn't bad to tolerate either. Just eat slowly and chew well. -
I fu@#ed up today
mgsmith replied to newgrandmother's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@newgrandmother, girl don't feel bad or beat yourself up about, we all make those types of mistake. I hate it when I don't bring my lunch to work, then I am forced to buy something from the cafeteria. Luckily we have a Chic fil a now and I usually get small side salad. Lately I have been craving sweets though, darn that pinterest! But I just try to reduce the amount of my serving and I good. Right now I wanted a Coconut Cake, and its in the oven know only 4 carbs per serving and it is soooo yummy and satisfy that sweet tooth. Take other's advise about having a back up plan at work with protein bars or something that you can easily store. Good luck with your continued success!!! -

I know I need to be asking my doctor and nut these questions but I don't go back until 29th so I thought u start here first... U am 3 1/2 months out and just don't know what I should but more concerned about, fat or carb intake. I'm not really keeping track of either and I know I should but sometimes it just gets a little frustrated and overwhelming. So what are my fellow sleeves just starting this journey are going by FATS VS CARBS!!

Just wanted to share a little thought. I was sleeved 9/12/12 and feeling good. I have my bad days but I can honestly say best decision ever made. I am slowly posing but that's ok, IM LOSING! The holidays I did really good only had a few bites of this and that but I did dabble in a few sweets. I am still on the losing side so no complaints. This picture was taken Christmas Day (hopefully it will post) and I felt a lot better than I did the last year. How did my fellow sleeves do this holiday season?

Not interested in sex post op! Help!
mgsmith replied to carolrod's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
It took me about a little over a month and 1/2 to have my sex drive return and trust me it has been great since my weight loss. -
Yes me too, it was brought to my attention just the other day. I am the one that never wears a coat during the winter months , but now I say bundled up all the time.
