Eating out - What to say to waiters/others

Thank you all. I didn't realize how much of your suggestions I already do. I will remember your ideas as I head off to LA for the New Year's celebrations!

    Weight loss pounds check in

Sleeved November 5th. Down 29 pounds. !00 pounds to go (hopefully). Still in 3Xs but they are baggy and loose. Should be in 2Xs in 10 more pounds!
  3. Having sleeping problems. Frustrating!

  4. I wish I could run away from my family at Christmas. I would rather be alone!

    TMI

I understand what you mean. I am almost 2 months out and only have a BM every couple days. I have to take extra fiber to have one and I have to sit forever to get things going. I didn't have problems before but I struggle with this.

    5 weeks out & only 21 lbs down :(

I was sleeved on 11/5 and I am only down 16 pounds post op. I don't think we should worry about it. It will come as long as we focus on healthy eating.
  8. Battling the stomach flu with a migraine!

    Cold ALL The Time!

There was an episode on bariactrictv.com about this. They said it is common after WLS. The only solution they offered . . . never go anywhere without wearing layers!
  10. First attempt at regular chicken . . . success!

  11. Finally got a couple pieces of sushi. Delicious!

  12. I had sushi for the first time last week. I was able to eat 3 pieces of an avocado roll (they are very small). I then ate the remaining 3 pieces 4 hours later. I had no problems. It was heavenly!
  13. I used Dr. Nyugen on November 5th. I had insurance restrictions on where I could go (had to be a center of excellence) and UCI was the closest to me. He is an outstanding surgeon. I have not been super impressed with his "bedside"manner but the PA and other physicians in his office more than make up for his business-like nature. I love Dr. Chamberlain and Washington. They are very patient. As far as the surgery, it went smoothly. I had 5 small incisions and a month later only 2 of them are even noticeable. The hospital is nice and I had my hysterectomy there as well. I would recommend Dr. Nyugen for his abilities.

    Plateau And Weight Gain

If you are exercising regularly, you might be strengthening or building muscles. Muscle weighs more than fat so many people actually gain a few pounds when they become more active. Even though muscle weighs more, it is denser so you might be losing inches. Try measuring yourself to see if that could be the case.

    November 5Th Surgeries!

Finally my stall broke and I was down a pound and a half more today. It only took 5 days! Geez!

    November 5Th Surgeries!

I'm feeling a little frustrated. It has been 4 days and I have not lost even a half a pound. I expect plateaus along the way but I did not expect it this soon. Grrr!
  17. I was sleeved on November 5th and am DYING to have sushi again. My favorite is avocado rolls and am concerned I will not be able to tolerate it. I would love to hear from a sleever who is able to eat sushi post op.

    Am I The Only One?

I was sleeved on November 5th. I was concerned that I would not lose as much as younger sleevers. But at this point, it doesn't matter. I just need to lose enough to make me healthier. I just need to lose enough to stop or reverse some of the co-morbid conditions I have. I'm not comparing myself to others.

    November 5Th Surgeries!

I was sleeved on November 5th. I'm on pureed and soft food. I have not had any trouble with eating and still do a couple protein drinks a day. My main incision is still sore when I move in certain directions. I had my post op last week and everything looks good. Doc said that main incision will hurt for quite a while. I'm down 12 pounds post op.
