    Any UK sleevers out there?

Hi , I was sleeved October 2012. I had my sleeve at Homerton university hospital in London, by Dr mannur. I was 34 st last year and I am down to 20st now. I feel so much better in myself, no weight related issues now apart from an on going spine condition. Hopefully this will get sorted by year end so I can exercise properly. My loss has slowed down big time due to lack of exercise due but hope this will improve one I am fully mobile again
  4. Been told I have vitamin d deficiency now. I am 7 months out. Anyone else had this. I keep feeling tired too. Thanks

    TOTAL DISBELIEF

    Well done you....
  6. Give it time buddy, your only a few days out , it will get easier.
  7. Hi All , I had spinal surgery today and have been given co-codamol to take for pain relief, the nurse said I weill be fine on it but I wanted to make sure. I will check in with my doctor tomorrow but I wanted an idea now coz its killing me....
  8. I'm in the same boat. I was sleeved mid October last year. I lost 60lbs since then but it seems to have stopped. I probably take in 1000 cal per day but that's it. I can only walk due to an ongoing back condition. my water intake is good but I do struggle with the protein. I go up and down a few pounds but I am loosing inches as my clothes are loose and I keep putting holes in my belt. I hope my body is adjusting and the scale will move again soon. This site is great for advice and everyone elses stories.
  9. Hi all , I managed to consume two slices of toast over a half hour period. I never thought I could eat bread again but its nice to get a little of what you fancy, makes you feel kinda normal again. I was sleeved in Oct 12 and am only starting to eat a bit more food now. Do ok with water, well hot tea usually. But tbh I struggle with the protein. Been losing roughly 12 lbs per month so pretty happy

    3 month post op stall?

Mine lasted two weeks, trust me , it will start to come off again
  11. Hello all. I was sleeved Oct 16 2012.. I lost a regular stone per month until the last two weeks. Now I am stuck. I know the inches have come off due to clothes but the scale is stuck. I am drinking lots of water in tea and trying with protein but probably not enough. Walking regular but the damn scale is stuck , any ideas? Oh yeah probably on 800 ish calories thanks
  12. I feel like this all the time, nine weeks out and still get lightheaded and dizzy. I know I am not getting in the required protein so will step that up to see if it makes a difference.
  13. Hi all, developed a new symptom the last few days. I have started feeling light headed and a bit odd when standing up. Not sure if its a lack of calories or protein etc. Roughly on about 60 g. Anyone else have this? Thanks Si

    Light headed :(

Thanks all, I am two months out on Tuesday, I think I am drinking plenty but as others have said since they struggle with water, so I drink lots of tea to get fluids in. I will try to step it up a bit to see if it helps. I think it could be a lack of sugars that's making me feel this way, we'll see. Thanks again
  15. Hi all, 7 weeks out now and have lost 45lbs. I am currently on my second stall though. I have been exercising daily and eat around 700 caps. Only seem to stay the same on the scales. I have been losing inches though, on waist and chest. If I increase my protein do U think I will start losing again? Thanks
  16. Hi all I am 5 weeks out now and I still cannot stomach all the foods on my diet. I am on soft foods now and each time I do attempt eating I get pain and full so quickly. So , I took decision to go back onto puree and Soups again. Hopefully things will improve. Anyone else had to do this? Thanks Simon
  17. Hi guys, I am nearly 4 weeks out and have hit my first stall. I have lost 2 stone since surgery inc pre op diet. Now I seem to have stalled over the last week or so. I am exercising and am not taking in high calories so I am stumped. I have lost inches though, five off my waist and another five off my chest area and legs. When will the scales start to show more results? Thanks all

    Stall :(

Thanks guys, sorry for being a dumb sod but how does raising calories break the stall? Thanks
  24. Hi all, I am 3 weeks post surgery now. Sleeved on 16th October. My weight loss started in February this year, when I got to 34 stone 10 pounds. I had high blood pressure, bad spinal condition, All made worse by my excess weight. I realised I had to do something. I have always been a big lad and just seemed to grow bigger. I opted to pay to have a gastric balloon inserted and had this in for six months loosing 6 stone. This really gave me the incentive to go forward with the sleeve. It took two years for me to get funding but this was finally approved for me in July. I had to wait for my balloon to come out and have a month settle in my tummy before the surgeon would operate. This ended up being done 3 weeks ago. I have been struggling on liquids and reading this site for weeks before signing up. You all offer great advice and tips that have really helped. I look forward to continuing my journey with you all. Best wishes Simon
