Should I Get A Tummy Tuck If I Dont Have Kids Yet?
jillb5 replied to missmelymelissa's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
My daughter in law recently checked into a tummy tuck. The doctor told her to wait until after she was finished having children to get that surgery. -

Any One Else Eating Like Its Going Out Of Fashion ?
jillb5 replied to Sarah-lu1's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Sarah-lu1 You didn't fail right, the band failed. Food compulsion is not a conquer, fail dilemma. It's a curse, a constant fight, fight, fight. We have to eat. It's not cigarettes or alcohol that can just be stopped. You are fighting! Doing everything in your power to win the fight. But you have not Failed! -

This forum is very reassuring because we are not alone. I am sure it's very common with the anticipation of such a life changing surgery. The fact is we are not going to be able to do this, for at least a while after our surgeries. It will be life changing and the beginning of a new chapter. -

Thanks for sharing. I'm supposed to start my pre-op fast the 19th but I've gained about 5lbs since I told my surgery coordinator I weighed 220. I'm thinking maybe I should start the pre-op tomorrow to try to lose the 5lbs before I start the real pre-op on the 19th. Man, this compulsion of mine is so irritating and stupid. I believe that I will need to work on behavior modification for a long time, along with the sleeve, to be successful at maintaining my goal weight. -
Thank you so much, this information is so helpful.

Great to have a fifty's group. I turned 50 in August and have my surgery Nov. 29th. Haven't delt to much with menopause. I am not sure if I've gone through it or not. I had a few hot flashes a couple years ago. My metabolism is pretty slow though so am planning on no carbs and excersize to help me lose.

Yes it's crazy. I am reassured by the strictness of my Doctors orders. I think. better to error on the side of caution. -

New To The Gastric Sleeve Surgery Board, Looking For Other Recovery Minded People:)
jillb5 replied to MsDragonz's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
The only sustained weight loss I have ever had was in O.A, specifically the H.O.W program. I weighed and measured my food, no white flour or sugar. I lost 100 lbs and maintained for 3 years. Many factors contributed to my leaving O.A. I do not think that this surgery would be as effective for me, if I had not learned what I have in the 12 step program. I would love to be a part of a recovery minded forum. Thank you and congratulations on your 2 years. -
Thank you. This recipe reminds me of a recipe my mother in law shared with me. She rolled them into balls and cooked them on a cookie sheet. She served them with a red pasta sauce.
