I started at 224, had my surgery Nov. 29th and am now down 57lbs. I was discouraged because it felt like my weight was coming off very slow. I just did the best I could and let it go. Now I am finally feeling like a real dent has been made. I am losing maybe 1.5 lbs a week, but it keeps coming off and other than walking I am not exersizing. Hope this helps in some way. I know that I was discouraged too but it keeps coming off slowly.

luvurself, Congratulations on your surgery , mine is the 29th. I agree the pre-op diet is not great, but soon hopefully we wont care. You will be in my thoughts and prayers. Love that puppy face!

I would like to know myself, right now I am on my liquid pre-op diet. I am using 100% Designer Whey vanilla protein, it has 18 grams of protein per. serving. I like it because I found a recipe I really like called a cinnamon roll. I add a few shakes of butter buds and cinnamon, 2 splenda packs and a pour of vanilla, I really don't measure. I love it that way but I am sure to tire of it, and want something else. I just ordered some unflavored unjury and some isopure. Also wondering about taste. Thank you mamakate.

Amen, to that, never had trouble puttin it on. I am smaller frame and so was my Mom, but she always maintained her perfect weight. After my surgery I anticipate that I will be eating like she did normally. I know that if I have one to many carbs my loss will stop on a dime. As far as concerns go I don't really think this has to be one for us in this category although I am sure there are exceptions to this. -
I Think I Am In Heaven!

My family has a favorite Pho restaurant that we absolutely love. I started my pre-op yesterday and my friend and I went there because she is addicted to it. I ordered the chicken broth and was also in heaven. So I guess we must have a major Wi-Fi. -
Yes, what is 10 more days it will be here before you know it. It is so true that all things happen for a reason. I pray that you have peace with your decision, and that everything works out for the best.

Thank you everyone for your imput, it's nice to know that I am not alone. Today I started my liquid diet gladly, and feel really excited and resolved with my decision. I will not regret not being able to eat like that again. But it was sorta freeing while it lasted. -
Start my pre-op tomorrow. How did you do on yours?

One Before Preop Diet And Eating Like A Pregnant Lady
jillb5 replied to newgirltx's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I start my pre-op diet tomorrow and I can hardly move I am so stuffed. We had a pre Thanksgiving meal tonight and overall my eating has been terrible these last few weeks. I think for me, anticipation of the surgery and ,"THE DEADLINE" has contributed to this feeling that I am eating my very last meal. It's terrible, I feel horrible. It will take a few days for my stomach to shrink. Other things have contributed to my eating frenzy as well. I am sure I will suffer because of it the next couple of days. I sincerely hope that you don't have to do this. I can totally relate and wish you the very best. -
Going into this with a true understanding of everyone being different, and not to count on the best scenario is really going to be a benefit to me. I don't know at all what to expect, accept hopefully I will take in less food at a sitting. Other than that ,it's up in the air. It is a blessing to have all these different experiences to gleen from. Thanks

Yes, I did hear my Dr. say that after surgery you could feel hungary because of gas of all things. He suggests gas X strips.

Introducing Me... Getting Sleeved On Monday Nov 19

I am also a recent participant and I am so thankful and happy to have found this. It is such a blessing to feel a part of a community and not alone in this life changing experience. The encouragement and support is invaluable. I am very excited to be on this journey with you. My surgery is Nov.29th with Dr. Alvarez in Mexico. I am kinda wishing now I had looked into Tijuana. I have only heard good things about surgery there, and it's half the cost. But all is set now, deposit, plane fare ect. At this point all I am is happy -
I know that to be successful myself I will need to do something more. Either Overeaters Anonymous, some type of counseling, or support group. This issue with weight I believe, is more than a physical difficulty.
-
I don't know, I have not had my surgery yet. I think it depends on how far out you are, and of coarse whatever your doctor says. But if it's all you can ingest at least your getting some liquid.

I think that it is so cool to be able to have a forum where you can ask any question, and get thoughtful, and practical responses. I learn so much. Thank you
