I need advice please from the vets
michelle38 replied to Tiki's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am almost 8 months out with a lost of 76 pounds. It has been a wonderful TOOL. And yes it is a TOOL. And yes I can cheat at this point. But thanks to my sleeve I can't cheat like I did in my past. And the BEST THING IS THAT I DON'T WANT TO CHEAT LIKE I DID IN THE PAST. I went thru a major surgery to be healthier. I don't want to sabotage myself now. I do allow my self one night a week to treat myself. But even then I don't eat the way I use to. I'm still losing and grateful for each pound I have lost. It will change your life!!!!!!! -
I'm losing alot of hair to. Very depressing. But I have read on here that it will grow back. It just takes time.

Hi. Tomorrow is my three months. Just wanted to tell my experience at three month out for me. I weighed today and I'm down 48 pounds. For three months I am very happy about that. I know without this surgery I could not have done it that fast. I have had stalls along the way and one week I actually gained two pounds. Very discouraging. But I knew it would get better. And it has. Having this forum to read I knew some people gained and I knew alot of people had stalls. And that it was normal. I can eat anything I want. Haven't had anything to make me sick. I do have to be careful and stay away from my sliders. My favorite slide is Cheetos. I do allow myself a few every Monday night. But that's all. I know I don't want to go back to my old habits. I still don't eat bread. I am afraid if I start on it I won't be able to stop. So for me I stay away from it. I also stay away from sodas. I do not drink with my meals. I wait thirty minutes after I eat. I've been bless to have a great recovery. And looking forward to the next few months and years of my life.

I've been sleeved, but many complications followed.
michelle38 replied to vickytom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm so sorry for all your complications. Hope it all gets better from here. -
I am three weeks and one day out. I haven't lost a pound since last Monday. No cheating. And very little eating. Lots of water. It wouldn't be so frustrating if I was eating and not losing. But very little food and still no weight loss is frustrating!!!!! Is anyone else going thru this or been thru this??

I am almost seven weeks out. And have done pretty good. I haven't over water and haven't been able to. And in go glad. Until today I sat here an ate and are wheat thins!!!! And feel like I could eat more!!!! So upset with myself and upset that my sleeve held that much. But more upset with myself for allowing myself to eat that much.

I was the same as u. Was going to have the bypass two years ago. Went the day of surgery had my gown and little cap on. But when the doc came in he wouldn't do the surgery because I had bronchitis. I have asthma And he was afraid to so the surgery. I reschedule for two weeks later. But I got scared and didn't do it. I was so mad the day of surgery because I was ready and was wanting to get it some. Now two years later and five weeks out of having my sleeve I'm glad I didn't have the bypass. The bypass you have to always take vitamins and certain medicines your not suppose to ever take again. And the re routing of your unaided. The sleeve no re routing. And after 6 weeks u can take all medicines. And vitamins only for a year. I have lost 30 pounds on five weeks. I'm very glad to have had bronchitis two years ago and to have my sleeve. It's a scary thing surgery is. But not being able to enjoy Life the way we should is also scary. Good luck to you. Only regret I have is not having the sleeve earlier.

But that has gotten better each day. I'm not a veteran but I would like to tell the ones who has just been sleeved that each day does get better. I'm so glad I had this surgery
