What sort of foods are you guys stock piling for your liquid pre-op diet?

When are you starting your liquid diet?

Me too.. But sometimes my negative thought get the best of me... I'm just going to continue to prepare and stay positive. :-) Skinny me hear I come...

I've been eating like crazy the past few weeks. As soon as I got my date, financing, and submitted all my short term disability paperwork, I began to eat all my "favorite" things. Chocolate milkshake from cold stone? Sure, why not? Starting today Im going to try to get back on track.

My date is Dec 17. Does anyone else feel like the surgery might not happen? I went through this before, only to be denied by insurance. Now, im self pay. Not looking forward to monthly payments, but figured Id save a lot of money on groceries and could put that towards the bill..lol..

I am pre-op and will finally be sleeved Dec 17. It seems like it'll take forever for the day to arrive. Im sitting at the airport and thinking about all the things I can't wait to do. And being able to comfortably sit in a seat during a flight is one of the things I can't wait to do. Feeling like everyone is looking in my direction hoping I won't sit next to them as I walk down the plane is one of the worst feelings. What are some things you pre-opers or newly sleeved folks can't wait to do?

HA! I thought about just wearing the sexy stuff around the house...just because! Not even when I'm around my BF.. lol You just don't get the chance when your bigger. The stuff for smaller sizes is so much sexier!

I'm the same. I lost a lot of weight, was doing great. I tried a few of the "skinny me" moves I did at my smallest, and thought I heard a round of applause. Then realized it was just my rolls. LOL,.. I can't wait to break those moves out again....

I buy BEACH towels to use around the house because they are large enough for me. I hadn't even thought of the JOY of using just a regular sized bath towel.. My goodness...lol...

Yes! Just cross my legs and not even think twice about it!! How great would that be. Looks like you have done a wonderful job so far!!! Congrats. :-) I go to Dr Kim in December.

When I look at the complications of the sleeve, I start to compare them to the complications I will no doubt have if I do not take care of my weight problem. All 5 of my aunts and uncles on my dad's side have diabetes and high blood pressure. All of them have had or have cancer. On my mom's side, heart problems, high blood pressure. I am in pain and out of breath going up and down the steps of my home at I’m just getting into my 30’s. Looking at my chances, I decided it would be a better choice for me to have the procedure. I am not doing it just to look "hawt" in a two piece, although the thought has crossed my mind. lol.. You have to remember why you decided to have it done.

I'm in a 22 or 24 now.. OMG.. I can't even imagine how fantastic you must feel right now!! :-)

I started going to the Thrift Stores in my area this weekend. They are 50% off certain colored tags on Saturday and Sunday. I picked up a few things that were just a size or two smaller that I couldn't wait to slide into... And I figure, what harm could it do? I've paid MAYBE 20, and I got about 7 really cute shirts! Some with the tags still on them. :-)

I am self pay too and didn't have to jump through hoops. For my local doctors, I had to attend meetings at the office for 6 months before they would send the file to the insurance company. That wasn't uncommon in my area. I'm in the state of Maryland but having it done in Dallas to be close to my mom for recovery. The office staff is what really made the deciding factor for me. I can call and email as many times as I need to and I never feel rushed and always get the answers I need. I had a horrible experience trying to get it done with my insurance a few years back. I was denied twice and just didn't have the fight in me anymore. I gave up for a few years, and while I was back home visiting my mom, she mentioned Dr Kim. I looked into it and what can I say? They had me at "Hello!" :-)

I'm going to Dr Kim on December 17th!!!! He is a very bisy man!! Congratulations to us!!! I'm so excited that I really don't know what to do with myself. I've gone out a bought all types of vitamins, chewables, protein shakes and drinks to prepare. Even bought some yoga pants a little too big to go in the hospital bag. The date just can't get her soon enough.

Had no idea what a "NUT" was...LMBO!!! I really thought, "Who is a nut? Are they insulting their doctor?" Thanks for the info!!!

What about vitamins? I've been driving myself crazy on what vitamins to buy, what I should be taking before surgery, also buying different protein shakes to try. I'm scheduled to change my life on Dec 17! :-)

Hello! I am set for December 17, 2012. What kind of vitamins, protein shakes, ect do you plan to buy? Also, I'm taking vitamins now to help with hair loss, maybe? lol... I can only hope and try right? :-) I'll look into the oil you are trying.
