Questions for women who got pregnant after being sleeved
kcaaunt posted a topic in Pregnancy with Weight Loss Surgery
Hi! I got sleeved in November 2012 and am getting married in November 2013. My fiance and I have been talking about having kids. For those of you who have been pregnant after being sleeved...did you find it difficult to eat enough? How was your weight loss after having the baby? How much did you gain in pregnancy? I know everyone is different but I am just curious on how different folk's bodies behaved. Thanks in advance! -
Almost 6 months post surgery...stalled weight loss
kcaaunt posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I will be six months post surgery on 5/14/13. I have lost 60lbs since my surgery in November. In the past three weeks, I have hit a stall. Any recommendations on how to break this stall? -

I read that comedian Lisa Lampanelli (sp?) had the sleeve surgery. She was in some magazine.

I love how you are documenting your progress. I now wish I had done that. I do have my pre-surgery jeans that I look back and and just say wow! It was so nice to put on a pair of pants that fit pre-surgey but now fall to the floor around my ankles
-
I am so sorry that you had to go through all of that...wow! I wish you the best of luck going forward!
-
I can totally see a difference! You look great!

Happy Valentine's Day and 3 month sleeve anniversary! How is everyone doing? I am down 47lbs and feeling better than I have in years. I am still struggling to get all my water and protein in but I do pretty good. I hope you all are doing great!

You look great! -
I have found that if I eat too fast, it comes right back up. I was always a fast eater so I have to really concentrate on my chewing. Fortunately, this has only happened a couple of times but there is no stopping it when it does happen.

I hope all the Nov 14th sleevers had a great Christmas! Did anyone have a difficult time over the holidays?

@ carrieann70: I was sleeved by Dr. Macik on 11/14/12. How are you doing? I am doing great. I have lost 20lbs so far. Any complications? No complications so far. I was very lucky. I only used the pain meds once after I got home. I only stayed in the hospital overnight. The nursing staff at the hospital was great. Dr. Macik was great. As you know, he is very quiet but he was so considerate and detailed whenever I had questions. He does have a quiet sense of humor. I really liked him. From your experience is there anything I should know? Walk. As soon as you can after you get back to your room...walk. It is so important. I followed Dr. Macik's directions and I think that really helped. When you go back for your two week visit, I didn't see Dr. Macik. The nurse weighed me, check my incisions and answered any questions that I had. Take the time that you have as you move from liquids to pureed foods to soft foods to really learn your body and your new stomach. I have had a couple of episodes that I have either eaten too fast or tried to eat something I wasn't ready for and paid the price. This is a new lifestyle and so for me I am really having to learn my limits. I am so excited about life now. I am trying not to be a slave to the scale but it is exciting to see it move down and your pants become baggy. I wish you all the best and hope you have a wonderful experience. Good Luck!

I am feeling great. I have been stalled weight wise for a week but I feel good. I have still lost 19lbs even with the stall.

100 lbs gone in 6 months, pics to prove it!

Thanks for the inspiration! -
That is what happened to me. I took pads with me but they told me to take everything off so I told the nurse. They gave me a pad and disposable underwear. It turned out not to be a big deal at all.

Has anyone stalled out in losing? I have completely stalled out and actually gained a pound. Very frustrating.
