Any Tattooed Sleevers?
LovetoDeath replied to epasseri's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I have a lot of tattoos and I have a lot of tattoo artist that are friends, they all say wait. You might decide once you loose the weight that you would like that tattoo in a place that is more flattering. I really want a chest piece but I am going to wait until I am atleast 30 pounds from goal, Even though that is an area that does not sag, I don't want to take any chances. -
$25000 Surgery Cost, what did you pay?
LovetoDeath replied to NewYear'sSleeve's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My Insurance is really weird. The surgery was 44K. The negotiated price to my insurance company was 22K. That is not including all of the other pre-op appointments I had. I have money that was set aside to meet my 3K deductable, that was paid. But even after the deductable I still have to pay 4K for co-insurance. Ughhhhhh I tired over and over again for the insurance company and the Dr. Office to tell me how much I would expect to pay out of pocket. They would not give me any information I was thinking maybe an additional 1,500 for co insurance I had NO IDEA it would be over 4K plus the 3K I paid for my deductable. And yes I work for a MAJOR corporation with stinky health coverage, but at least they paid most of it!! -
I am 4 weeks post- op,cleared for just about any foods and I eat salsa all the time! It's great on eggs or beans!!!

The lower right incision is where they pull the stomach out. I am 4 weeks post-op and that one took the longest to heal. It keeps getting better. Wishing the best for you!

I wish I would've known that before
LovetoDeath replied to Prettynpink1982's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 3 weeks out and I still crave EVERYTHING! My taste buds have not changed one bit. Hearing everyone else on hear I was expecting to loose some of my cravings and I was very suprised that they are still there, full force. I am able to eat almost everything according to my Dr. Except for beef, raw fruits and veggies, and nuts. I have no issues with eating food at all. I am limited to 1/2 a cup of food three times a day and one snack. I stick to those guidlines but I feel like tI could def. eat more than that. -
Tomorrow i'm three months out
LovetoDeath replied to michelle38's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If you like cheetos, I have an alternative for you. In the baby section of stores they have these cheese puffs for babies. They hardly have any calories or anything. Eat a few of those instead of the full fat ones and you will still get your fix! -
Odd question about removing the drainage tube
LovetoDeath replied to JRFuerst's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My drainage tube actually slipped out on it's own in the hospital. I got up to walk and the tube was sitting next to my leg. The nurse said she had never had that happen before. I didn't feel a thing. I think it proababy happened in my sleep. I was tossing and turning because i was uncomfortable. -

What a difference a year makes... (Pictures - size 20 to size 4!)
LovetoDeath replied to sarahcc's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
This is exactly how I hope to be. I have never been good at keeping track of anything. I get discouraged on this board sometimes because it seems like everyone is so strict with tracking and never eating any carbs. This makes me feel like there will be some hope for me. Thanks! -

Anyone have 6 month diet waived by insurance?
LovetoDeath replied to hurley911's topic in Insurance & Financing
I have BCBS in virginia and I did not need to do any type of pre-op diet. I guess every state and every company is different. -
5 months and down 80lbs!
LovetoDeath replied to MsGee33's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Congrats, you look amazing! -
So Carnie Wilson, had Gastric bypass in 1999, and then the lap band in 2004. She has only lost 40 pounds since her revision. I suspect she will be getting the sleeve soon. Speaking of famous people (or semi famous people). I'm thinking Boy George and Chaz Bono had WLS. Any thoughts?

LovetoDeath replied to kimikat3's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
KIMKAT3 I was also wondering about this, I'm glad you asked. I mean what is the big difference between SF Fudge pops and SF froyo???? -
I read the article wrong. She had Lap-band surgery in 2012.

I also live in Virginia and have Anthem BCBS. I have not heard of this. I am waiting for approval now, and I never had to wait 12 months. All I had to do was, one NUT class, one Psyc evaluation, PCP letter, and Orientation. I'm sorry you have to go through all of that, but time will fly by fast.
