I don't really have an option. I became disabled a year ago. I have cut my food intake by 50% or more, but....I can't exercise to any extent. I don't have the strength to walk around the block. It's not going to get better, and I have to get the weight off.
My ins company has hoops on top of hoops. But we're working through it. Wife and I figure October before we get it (she's doing it as well - usual health issues). No we're not going to have matching OR tables .
Anyway, just gut it up (no pun intended) and face the facts. Even the most recent government study of thousands found that diet and exercise does not work to keep the weight off. You get it off, the body adjusts and the weight comes back. This is the best common-sense solution.
