I have been heavy most of my life. The only time I can remember being thin is when I was in high school. I had my first child at the age of 19 and the pounds have been creeping on since.

My highest weight was 298 in July 2012. I was terrified of reaching 300. I started my journey with the sleeve two years ago when I attended an information meeting. I didn't really think much of it then, I told myself that I didn't need it and that it wasn't for me. At the beginning of this year, several people at my employment started getting the sleeve procedure done. The results were amazing! So in June 2012, I quit smoking (which alone was super hard!!) and started the process to have my sleeve. I finally had surgery October 29, 2012. I am already down 25 pounds from my heaviest weight, and it feels amazing! Everytime I go for a walk, it amazes how each step hurts less and less.

I am truly thankful for this journey I have begun and I am excited for what the future holds!!!!
