Newbie needing help!
ASKSARAH - Sleeve replied to ddw12's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I would honestly not buy anything till after your surgery is over. Also buy from GNC so you can take powders back incase you do not like them. I got a small sample pack from unjury for the chicken broth but it was super salty. Just relax and purchase it when you are in your first week.. You should be on clears and more worried about staying hydrated than drinking Protein right away. Week 2 is generally when people can be on full liquids and its easier to add in items like that. Good luck. -
Has anyone stopped losing at 4 months out...for good?
ASKSARAH - Sleeve replied to Im14fun's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
It thought I stopped about 8 months out, but all of the sudden I was like an inferno and couldn't sleep for a few days and just felt emotional and just not myself at all. I lost 10 lbs this week. It just begins again. Just keep staying on course and move more it will start to come off as it needs to. -
I was taking pills about 2 days after. No problems with anything here. I take Ibuprofen often and don't have much issue

the fat fills in the wrinkles?
ASKSARAH - Sleeve replied to MindiJean's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I notice that By pass patients have that sunken look. They look much older and I think it has a lot to do with how they lose weight as opposed to they way sleevers lose weight. I am only 34 and the wrinkle situation isn't a think for me yet. But I have been told I look younger and healthier and brighter. I think you are going to do just fine and look 15 years younger! -
I feel different today
ASKSARAH - Sleeve replied to pjackson0523's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yep and it gets easier and easier EVERYDAY. -
I found that I couldn't drink water at all. I have to add something anything to it. The water drops (mio, koolais, dasani) have a silicone in it and makes it easier on your tummy, I loved hot/warm tea. Keep all your fluids room temp or really cold and find out what your tummy likes. You must get fluids in you and that is the most important thing right now.

Starving on my pre-op diet! Does it get easier?
ASKSARAH - Sleeve replied to gertmom's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
THIS!!! I will never understand the sadistic pre op. No one has ever had their doctor open them up to measure their precious liver. and then measured it before they did their stomach. They use this Special tool called a liver re-tractor to hold it back anyhow. There is a lot more room in there than they let on especially when they blow you up with gas. I have an actual video of my surgery. I cannot comment on if it gets easier because I did not have a pre op. I don't think it would however. How could it get easier? Once your stomach is gone you won;t have any desire to eat. your hunger will be gone, well for most of it is. Some people still feel hunger. I pray you are not one of them. When I am "hungry" I just feel empty and eat by the clock. I hope your surgery was as easy for you as it was for me and I wish you all the success in the world! -
So.. Does your husband like you now that you're skinny?
ASKSARAH - Sleeve replied to Mrs.RRn's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
In general people are true morons! I would just look at them odd and walk away and let them figure out what they just said was inappropriate. not even respond. When they realize that hey just shoved their own foot in their mouth so far it will take weeks to get it out it will help fix them. I get asked or really told all the time you must feel so much better and you look so much better. I feel like saying I feel the same its still me and I must of looked hideous before. I don;t I just smile and say thanks or whatever. Just remember humans in general don't get it. -
Mexico prices - please share yours and your surgeon
ASKSARAH - Sleeve replied to Jenny12's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I used dr. Ponce de leon, He is based in TJ. I flew into San Diego and they drove me across the boarder and directly to the hospital. 2 nights in hospital 1 night in luxury hotel across the street from hospital. The hotel was super nice the bed super comfy and the TV channels are from San Diego. The shower was great and I loved having time alone to read and sleep and watch tv and walk around if I wanted to. Trish took me shopping on Sunday ( I had surgery on Friday). I went alone so it was nice to get out and see some of the city before I left. My favorite time was in the hotel. NO kids or husband needing me. No one to entertain I just loved it being me for a few hours. I had an all inclusive except the flight. I had a coordinator that was with me often. My Doctor was super attentive and saw me multiple times a day. I had amazing care in a private hospital called INT. My cost was $5500. I know they have a special right now and I can put you in contact with my coordinator for those prices. I swear the care I had was THE BEST MEDICAL CARE I HAVE EVER HAD. My flight on southwest for $125 with early boarding. I would do it over again in a heart beat.
