sleeved 2/24/14
ASKSARAH - Sleeve replied to nsabino's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Its super normal. The day after surgery I really didn;t sleep that night and sorta fell apart, I was in pain from the stupid gas in my chest that I was not prepared for, I was alone in MX ( had an amazing time) my corrdinator came in and rubbed my back and burped me so to speak, said you need a shower and I did get int he shower and felt like a new person, thank god. That was my only moment of WTF did I do to myself. from that day on its all been flowers and rainbows, I put on my big girl panties and became a much thinner happier person. Keep your chin up it gets better from here. -

My first NSV
ASKSARAH - Sleeve replied to *Glitter*In*The*Air*'s topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yippy for you! They will just keep coming from here, Some of my first NSVs were things like putting on non wide calf boots, wearing a normal hotel towel instead of a sheet LOL Walking 3-5 miles and not really feeling much, picking my son up with out heaving him over my hip. losing my shoe size by 2 and having ot buy new shoes, shopping at VS for real size bras and panties. borrowing a skinny friends clothing and them fitting better than on her. Hugging my husband or being intimate with him and feeling very close rather than a body in between us. -
Thinking about ...
ASKSARAH - Sleeve replied to moorecr's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That seems to be a great weight loss. its about 10 lbs a month. Its about average. If you are really concerned and it seems as if you are, get back to day 1 and go back to liquids and start over. You know what you need to do! Good luck -
why the heck do you think you stretched your sleeve, Its virtually impossible, more info would be helpful

Will i ever be warm again?
ASKSARAH - Sleeve replied to chicagirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Its a very common phenomenon. You may or may not ever be warm again like you used it. Its very hard for the body to regulate temp when you are losing so quickly. There is much more to your fat cells than just fat, Hormones have alot to do with this. Best thing I can advise is get a little heater for your office and dress in layers. Good luck, and as I say these are skinny bitch problems LOL -

That's a little odd for sure, When I get full I can almost literally feel my tube, for lack of a better word, and its right under my sternum. -

ASKSARAH - Sleeve replied to moonchild41's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So sorry, Can I ask how much it is? Maybe you can look into going to MX for a fraction of the cost like I did, Instead of 20K I paid $5500 Good luck to you, all things in their own perfect timing?! -
Divert and distract and in turn you divert and distract yourself from food, Get in the car go find a huge box, make an airplane or castle, Get some crayons and draw pictures to put all over the frig, Make a glitter Water bottle to settle her/his mind. Go see the animals at petco There are a million things to do to distract and divert!

Cell Phone Coverage In TJ Also Electronic Plug in Questions
ASKSARAH - Sleeve replied to ctielli's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Sorry no one has answered you, I went to MX and they have american plugs, no need for adapters. As far as cell phones I turned my on airplane mode and left it there, I talked to my family and friends via Whatsapp and Gtalk, I was able to video chat on G talk, even got to watch my kids basketball game that way. The hospital had a phone I could use if necessary. Good luck you will be just fine! -

Constipation Finally went number two- ouch
ASKSARAH - Sleeve replied to slocin12's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You probably will not go daily because your intake is reduced. At least for a while. Your body will adjust give it time. I have to take a few stool softeners+ laxative all in one, to keep things moving along. Really takes the stress out of my life. If you are able to eat raisin bran daily that will help as well. I personally cannot, too much sugar causes too much cramping, -
Drastic times equals drastic measures, liquid only almost guaranteed to work.

Hello- I have a few questions.
ASKSARAH - Sleeve replied to Pnut&Bull's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I did not go through insurance, I made my date in a week. In fact I am taking a good friend of mine to Mexico on Thursday and she made the decision lat night, yay for her, I digress I had surgery on a Friday I was and you should be up and waking in a couple of hours of waking up. You should be more up than down. I flew home Monday and I was fine. On Sunday I was out shopping for a few hours for souvenirs for my kids. So your dog's will be fine being walked by you. You will probably be able to walk, elliptical etc immediately and about 4-6 weeks before any strength training. But honestly I did not work out for 10 months and the weight melted, the moment I started walling 3-7 miles 3xs a week the weight loss stopped. I stopped working out I began to lose again, I hear the same story from a lot of people. Good luck. -
Hair growth after surgery?
ASKSARAH - Sleeve replied to ualaw08's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
What you put into your body will effect what comes out, this includes hair and nails! I say take it and run. My hair fell out at a pretty decent rate for 3-5 months post and the regrowth was almost immediate and its soo much better! My nails are finally long and strong as well. Good luck to you -
you could in reality, but do you really want those starches in you?? I did not. Choose better foods. One of my favorite meals was ricotta cheese and marinara sauce! Yumm

Survey - Carbonated Drinks? Do u drink them?
ASKSARAH - Sleeve replied to lapnicky's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Oh heck no! I liked sodas but I was put on a medication that started with a T and one of the side effects was anything carbonated tasted like ass and to this day it still tastes like ass. It changed my brain receptors permanently. I once had a few drinks of sprite about 6 months in and I immediately threw up. SO don;t care, don't miss it. No one should be drinking that crap. -
Sounds like you have a tummy virus no the flu 9 super common mistake) The flu is in the head mostly consists of chills and fever and comes on like a ton of bricks. A gastric virus causes stomach upheaval. Let your body do what it needs to do, Try to sleep and drink fluids as tolerated. I get sick about 1 a month with my period, I throw up all day and by 6 or 7 everything subsides and I can drink some chicken broth and G2 to keep from getting dehydrated. But call your doc if you are concerned.

Looking for my teen. Acevez, Alvarez, Kelly and Ariel Ortiz?
ASKSARAH - Sleeve replied to slcmommy5's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I personally went to Dr. Ponce De Leon. I had an amazing time there with a great team. I was super taken care of. His cost was $5,500 + air fare. I highly suggest you look into him. I was sold on Mexico the monent I looked into it. Not sure what would keep you from there?! I had better care there than any hospital here. 1 nurse to every 2 patients. Private hospitals. They want their patients to be well taken care of so they get referrals. I can get you my coordinators info if you want it. I even got to skype with my surgeon prior to going, -
5 years Post Op- Seeking Help from a Veteran
ASKSARAH - Sleeve replied to bgraciad83's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
A lot of people go back to square 1 with the liquids and adding in foods again just to reset. Drastic times take drastic measures! Just get refocused and you will do great.
