OK! I'm very frustrated! I am on day 11 of my post op liquid diet (surgery 10/29). Md has me on 4 protein shakes a day and liquids. At first, I lost like a pound a day, then nothing in days. How frustrating to not eat any food and not lose?? Help! I have been reading a lot and it looks like the advise for those who stall is to up the calories, but it's all I can do to choke down the four shakes! Please tell me I'm not the only person to have this surgery and not lose weight... (I only lost 5 pounds during 10 day liquid diet phase..) Thanks for any imput

We had a bday party for my son and had four leftover pizza (star chews star pepp). The whole party leaves to go trick or treating, I'm handing out candy...I started to feel myself getting angry at the trick or treaters like "yeah, here kid, take your stinking candy!" then it's finally over, I go clean up and I took a Biggs, long smell of the pizza. First "food flashback" I've had so far...it was hilarious -

My surgery center gave me all kinds of different smoothie recepes...blend strawberry injury with crystal lite and ice cubes, or put chocolate into a cup of decaf coffee/steamed skim milk (skinny latte at Starbucks) and its like a mocha that was great to have a hot beverage. U can put the unflavored mixed into jello, or put in hot broth. You cant just drink with milk only, I was going crazy! -
Thanks all.. I'm not supposed to eat anything for two weeks post op. I am going to try to walk more tomorrow. I've never had any other surgery so I think I'm a bigger baby than what I thought. I'm weird I thought since both pregnancies were pretty easy, this would be no sweat....ha!

I'm four days out today and it seems nothing is as I've expected....I have LOTS of gas pains so I can't tell when I'm full or not because I'm writhing with gas pains, is this normal? Also I have lots of saliva which I find ,yself swallowing so I'm gulping even more air. Tips online say to lay flat and pull legs up which is nearly impossible after abdominal surgery? Answers? Support?
