Have your feelings/addictions about food changed?
FatFreeMe replied to asmaclare's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm going to try and answer some of your questions. I'm four weeks out. I too had a portion control problem and would OFTEN snack at night after everyone else went to bed. My husband is an awesome cook and having seconds was completely normal for me. So what is it like now? I look forward to mealtime! Especially dinner. I physically cannot eat like I used to. There's just no room. Your body will tell you if your eating too fast or too much. For me personally, my back starts to ache bad and gets increasingly worse until I throw up. Because of this, I've learned rather quickly to stop eating when my back STARTS to hurt. There's always tomorrow!!! I love spicy food too. Right now I'm in the puréed stage but I'm looking forward to regular food. On a side note, I've lost 26 pounds in 3.2 weeks and I'm feeling great! -
I think she means weeks out. Eventually they will want you to rely on food for all your nutrients. Some people still supplement with shakes anyways. I'm 4 weeks out and I'm still required to drink 2 shakes a day.

Wow! I've never heard of a pre-op liquid diet being so long! The good news is that the shakes will keep you satisfied. Buy gum?

I'm scheduled for feb 11th also. Pre-op diet has been easy for me because I am so sick with a cold, diahreah, even developed a hemorrhoid. I haven't even been able to drink my shakes. I'm supposed to have 4 a day. Today I had one. I'm trying to drink a lot of water because I don't want to become dehydrated. Hoping to feel better, this SUCKS! -

Surgery is Jan 7th and just took my before pics.
FatFreeMe replied to Luckystar12's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
What I feel in the inside is so different that how I actually look on the outside. I'm actually amazed that i am able to do as much as I do. Had my husband take my before pics today (front, side, back). He asked me if I wanted to see them. I said no. Later, when he wasn't around, I looked and was shocked (especially with the side view!) thank God I'm doing this! I will hang a 8x10 of that photo in my bedroom near my scale as a daily reminder to myself. Don't ever go back!!! -
You wouldn't be doing this if it wasn't meant to be. Prayers going out to you - you'll be awesome!!!

FatFreeMe replied to BigFrank's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Thank. You Frank for posting and all the good stories that followed. A couple days ago I was so freaked out that I was searching for "stomach transplants" on the Internet in case it goes really bad. I'm reassured now Just breathe! -
I've been doing so good while going thru all my appointments. Now, knowing that the pre-op diet is just days away, I can't stop eating stuff. I HAVE NO FREAKING CONTROL!!!!!

FatFreeMe replied to Justwander's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I went to Italy in 2007. It was THE MOST UNCOMFORTABLE flight I ever took. The seats were so tiny! I hope your trip is comfy and you're able to do everything you want! My father and brother went to Botwana twice for vacation. They said it was AWESOME!!!
