  1. Hi everyone . I am 4 days post op home and feeling really good, just wanted to ask a question though. When drinking is it "normal to feel a sort of uncomfortable feeling as if you can feel it going all the way down ? Doesn't happen all the time so I'm not sure if it's just pain from gas ? Feeling great but this is concerning me. Appreciate any feedback you all may have
  2. Hi seth I am laying in my hospital bed about 12 hrs post op and your post caught my eye as my husband suffers very badly with ankylosing so I see first hand what a cruel disease it can be. I think you have made a great decision , my nerves wavered yesterday as I got to the hospital but even now 12hts out I am happy that I've made this choice and I'm on my way to a healthier life. All the best for your journey

    January 2013 Sleevers?

Yes - I'm scheduled for tomorrow too - getting really nervous now . Just trying to look ahead and remember all the positives - I just want it to be over ! Good luck to you
  4. All this talk about food when I'm 2 weeks into my pre- op diet is sending me crazy LOL. Those ribs sound seriously good ! Anyway got my "clotting problem " sorted today with the hospital and I am all systems go for op on Thursday ! One quick question - did you all make soup to freeze for when you came home - if so - what sort ?
  5. Ok so I managed to get some old reports from my gp re the lung clots . Almost 100% positive what's showing up in this current scan is scarring from an old one as the positioning reads the same, so hopefully when I fax these to hospital tomorrow we will still have the green light for surgery on Thursday. Excited, nervous ... all those things. (I've had 3 x 11 pound babies with no pain relief ... How bad can this be .... Right ?) Anyway 12 days on preop diet so far and I am down 7kgs. Roll on Thursday !
  6. Sooo bummed right now !! Went for my pre admission clinic today and all went well and I was psyched for my surgery next thurs. Returned home to a call from hospital saying there was a suspected lung clot on my scans ( I have had 3 previous pulmonary embolism). They weren't sure if it's a new one or an old one still showing. So now they are taking the long weekend to decide whether to 1. Proceed as planned or 2. Cancel surgery and treat the clot . Having had these in the past my gut feeling is that it's an old one still showing as I have no pain or symptoms . I understand their caution but I'm so ready for this !!

    pre-op diet

I'm being sleeved on 31st Jan in Sydney and start my preop optifast diet tomorrow so I totally get your concerns. How have you gone so far ?
  9. Hi guys . So excited to finally be given a date for my sleeve surgery. I will be sleeved on 31st Jan at concord hospital by dr David Joseph ( who has been awesome so far by the way). I will be starting on optifast tomorrow so wish me luck! As with a lot of posts I've read I am a little scared but mostly excited. My biggest concern is as a mother how my children will cope without me for 3-4 days especially since the day of my surgery they are all starting back at 3 new schools ??? Anyway any advice would be greatly appreciated. I have enjoyed reading about everyone for the last month or so and now it's time to join in !
