I was wondering if anyone out there that was self pay has had this happen. I am concerned of the cost of the surgery that it will take to fix it. I know all of the hospitals and Dr. charge differently, but I just wanted to get an idea of what I am in for. My Dr. moved away and the only person I see now is retired from surgery and can't fix me. So now I am on my own to find a surgeon to fix this and I feel totally abandoned . I will have had my band for a year this may.

I was wondering who you all go to for your fills. I just found out my DR in Tacoma is closing it's doors and now I need to find someone close and also reasonable in price.

For VG 10 cc Bandsters ONLY
Startin'Over replied to BeacheeGirl's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Hi everyone. I have a 10cc band and was just filled for the second time. I am now at 4cc. I had a question. Most food will go down ok, but fluids hurt ALOT. Does anyone else have this problem. It feels like a golf ball going down even when I take small sips. Food doesn't do this. Any thoughts?:help:I am dying of thirst and really want to drink. -
I was banded May 23, 2007 and got my first fill July 3rd. I have just a little bit of restriction. I can eat fine and haven't vomited ever since the band. But I woke up in the middle of the night with pain in the middle of my chest when I layed on it. I didn't think much of it but it was still there when I woke up this morning. It hurts when I breathe and when I bend over. I have no idea if this is related to my band or not. Any suggestions?<!-- google_ad_section_end --><!-- / message --><!-- sig -->

I was wondering how long your doc's make you stay on liquids right after a fill. I was told 48 hours. I will do what he says but wondered what other bandsters do. -
Hi everyone, I was banded 5-23-07 . I am really happy I have done this, but the liquids sure aren't cutting it right now. I am starting to get hungry. My doctor requires 4 weeks post-op clear liquids so I have a long road ahead of me for that. He did say he would give me phentermine at my post-op appt to help with the hunger until I start my mushy stage. I go in on thursday for that so I am looking forward to that helping. Glad to meet you all going through what I am right now. Is anyone experiencing pressure up in your ribs and on your stomach when you lay down? I am guessing it is gas, but don't know for sure.

Nbjen, I am so glad to find someone with the same dr. I had a co-worker that did this with Dr. Fox but she moved out of state and I don't really talk to her anymore. It seems like the more I read about other peoples restrictions and things, Dr. Fox is one of the strictest. I much rather him be strict then not so I can get the full potential out of the band. I am getting really nervous. I start my liquid diet tomorrow. Can I ask what kind of protein you are drinking? I need to get to the store and wanted to see what other people are using and like.

Getting Banded in 12 days in Washington
Startin'Over posted a topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi, my name is Kristin and I will be getting banded by Dr. Fox in Auburn Regional Medical center on May 23rd. I just found this forum today. I am really anxious and nervous. Just wanted to get some support from people that have been or going to be through the same thing. Family and friends can only support so much if they haven't been through it. I am most scared of not lossing very quickly or it not working at all. I paid for the surgery and really want it to be a success. Thanks for listening -
Hi Nw banders. I am getting banded on the 23rd of May and will start my liquids this Sunday. Dr. Fox at SWLC in Tacoma will be doing mine. Nice to meet some local people

I have not been banded yet, and I too just joined the boards, but wanted to say good luck and hope all goes as planned.

Getting banded in seattle
Startin'Over replied to Evilah's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I will be getting banded in 12 days. I will have to be on liquids 10 days prior to surgery and 4 weeks after. It is amazing how every dr requires different things. Good luck.
