    Worries

I was also sleeved Dec 5th, and had many of the same worries that you do. I have found that I don't miss soda and such, now, I am able to take a decent swallow of clear fluids with no problems. I am on pureed/soft foods, and have tried many many things. If you are following what the doctor/NUT recommends and chew, chew, chew, I have found in my experience that I don't 'need' a drink with my food because my mouth has moistened it plenty to swallow...it wasn't easy the first two weeks to remember to stop drinking so I could actually try full liquids, but now I think I'm close to having the hang of that. It gets easier once you get further out and start listening to your body...which is definitely a part that I had turned off when binging... My doctor is a 'balanced' diet type, and only advises to get protein first, then veggies then carbs, and I find when I do that, I almost never have room for the carbs, and not always veggies even at this far out (2 oz at a time doesn't leave for much). It DOES get easier!!!! Keep your head up, your fears are totally normal at this stage, but it does eventually turn out just fine. Hugs and you will rock your sleeve!

    A New Kind Of Christmas

Many families have the 'non traditional' christmas! We spent ours in our pj's after a christmas breakfast (no dinner) and a Big Bang Theory/Movie marathon, with pizza takeout for the kids for supper! As long as its fun and enjoyable, no matter how you spend the day. Thanks for sharing your cute story. Surely will be one to remember.

Hows your weight loss coming along?

    SW: 239.8, I was 225 day of surgery. 214.2 this morning. I had surgery 12/5 :-) SW
  8. I had a lengthy discussion with my nutritionist at my appointment yesterday. (Hair loss) she said that Iron and zinc are the Vitamins to take as a supplement to Multivitamin and Protein to keep from hair loss/hair health. I've added both into my regimen. She advised the multi Vitamin is not enough and stressed that I should take a daily schedule...mine looks like this Morning: flinstone chewable, b-12 sublingual, iron chewable, and my Acid prevention. 4 hrs later: 2 Calcium, Vitamin D 5000 drops (once per week) 4 hrs later: 2 calcium Night: flinstone chewable, b-complex vitamin She has advised that the Flinstones contain the right amt of zinc in one chewable but other nutrients require 2 per day... I hope that this helps! I have been adamant in talking with her about my nutrients and hair because I also am very afraid of hair loss...

    Here I go ....

You can order many many different kinds of sample packs $1.95 each of basically all of the popular brands/flavors at Nashua Nutrition. This was a god send after buying a 2lb tub and hating it!!! Ironically I liked certain flavors brands before surgery and cannot tolerate them after! (Bariatric advantage after is WAY too thick) Syntrax has been my go to since surgery (chocolate truffle, chocolate mint, vanilla bean torte = yummy to me) Hope that helps
