All of my December sleevers...
simplejaxgirl replied to blkdiamond377's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Squeeeeeeeee!!!!!!! I am super overly excited today I hit my first short term goal!!! <200 HELLO ONEDERLAND Ohhh it's so nice to see you. I was in a 2 week stall, and after my checkup on Tuesday I think my body was like ok. Dropped another 5+ lbs this week, as I was bouncing between 207-203 all during the stall (whew the ups were hard). It's like a staircase, loose, stall, loose, stall, rinse, repeat.... Don't forget to take this to the hospital
simplejaxgirl replied to himalaya62's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree with buffalo, they are there to help you and make you as comfortable as possible. My nurses never blinded me with the light, fixed the air and brought and extra blanket when I was cold and brought meds etc when needed. Don't be afraid to ask! :-) Sent from my iPhone using VST -
All I can say is let them walk a mile in "our" shoes, the journey of many failed diets, working out each day, making new choices for a healthy lifestyle, many while battling emotional issues and scars....it's no roses and sunshine walk (at least not for me and many others) it :angers: me when people say the "easy" way.... Never judge unless you've walked a mile in their shoes. Sent from my iPhone using VST

December 5, 2012. The first day of the rest of my life. The last few days have been very dark days. I've been in a stall for a about 5 days now, and this is my second stall in 8 weeks. My highest weight was 242.2 and starting weight was 239.8. I've been stuck at 205 + or - 2-3 lbs. Today is my 8 week surgiversary. Today I am feeling much different than the few weeks, even the last 5 days. I have learned so much about my body as well as food, nutrition, and life in these last few weeks. Today I hit 100 oz of fluids. Prior to today I might have hit 50-60 on a good day. Today I hit my protein. Today I walked over 2 miles in under 40 minutes. Today I ran on the treadmill. I haven't 'ran' in almost 10 years... Today I made healthy choices. I have had sooo many struggles. EVERY SINGLE MEAL is a challenge. (anyone else?) Every meal is a new opportunity to choose the best food for my body. I am sooo far from perfect, and have struggled every single day. Today I put the scale away. Today I will focus on being healthy. Today I will focus on exercise and going forward. Today I will focus on being happy and living in the moment. My hunger has NOT gone away, however I can say that it is NOT the same kind of hunger as pre-surgery. Music has been my healing power. I hate plain water, and most protein shakes. I have learned that I am a strong woman, but I have a lot of dark demons that haunt me, I have many issues that I am always going to struggle with, but I am NOT going to let them beat me or get me down...I have done that for way too long. Thank GOODNESS for the amazing people who post on this website as they are and have been extremely supportive and I have learned so much from the many others who are taking a walk on this journey. I don't always post, but I read others posts and comments daily. Cheers to the rest of my healthy life!

First of all....Congrats on your surgery. Keep that sipping and walking up, it will help in the long run! Boy I can remember 4 days out...it was tough, 'eating' and drinking...I was released from hospital on full liquids, so eating consisted of cream soups and greek yogurt. You will do awesome. I do keep the atkins readi-made shakes for days when I cannot get my protein from food. Basically all the proteins that were good before surgery are either too thick or taste soo different now. Another ready to drink that I actually sort of don't mind are the EAS Advantage Carb Control shakes (17gm protein, 100ish calories).

Hi Sleeve sista! :) Yes, I am on regular foods and am 'eating' most anything. My go to foods are 2% cottage cheese, low fat string cheese, eggs, deli turkey slices, canned tuna, fat free milk, oh and chicken. Those seem to be my staples. I've made a couple of the 'cupcake meals' from www.emilybites.com soo yummy As for fluids and water, i was doing just plain water with crystal light, but that got old very quick with the volume of water that we have to drink, and the fact that I only like certain flavors. I have tried just lemon juice of fresh lemon, and a pack of splenda and that is yummy. My go to right now is powerade zero and propel zero, as well as unsweet tea with splenda. I have tried very hard to get most if not all of my proteins directly from food, but sometimes I need to supplement. Also, things I've tried and have not tolerated well (even only a bite or two) are pizza, pasta, bread or carby and/or greasy foods. Not that I should be trying them, but they just don't go well with my sleevie. Keep in touch, I swear I need ALL the dang support I can get, as I don't have many friends

Thanks!!! Yes, plain water seems to be the devil, unless ice cold, then it goes down very easy. Thank GOD for powerade zero and propel zero.

Approval letter's surgery date - is it correct?
simplejaxgirl replied to firelle's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This happened to me also, date moved from nov 28 to dec 5. They have to provide a date to insurance for approval. This date can move (depending on your surgery coordinator and surgeon availability) they just call insurance with an updated date once approved. The ins will send a letter with new date if it changes. just be sure to advise the coordinator of the dates l. The letter. No worries! Sent from my iPhone using VST -
What NSV you hope to achieve?

I take 2 flinstone complete chewable multivitamins, GNC B-12 Sublingual, and a small iron pill (only pill besides PPI/prilosec that isn't chewable). You do not have to take the bariatric brands, just check with your nutritionist to make sure that whatever you choose is ok.

A_Sahar, It won't be long now that you will be rocking that sleeve from the losers bench!!!! Today for the first time since I was a child, I was able to buy a pair of pants from the 'normal' size clothes section...I'm 7 weeks out, and it was a shining moment that made me cry happy tears! You too will get there! Good luck on your journey, pre-op is the beginning to your new and healthier life! -Cassie
